Sayyid Al-Hakim: We offer our condolences to the Christian world on Pope Francis' passing
The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim, on Monday offered condolences to the entire Christian world on the death of Pope Francis.
Sayyid Al-Hakim said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We received with great regret the news of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis."
He continued: "On this painful occasion, we recall the role of His Holiness in promoting peace, serving humanity and interfaith dialogue, as well as his historic visit to Iraq and his meeting in the city of Najaf with the supreme religious authority, His Eminence Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani, an event that will remain in the memory of Iraqis and the world."
Sayyid Al-Hakim offered "to the whole Christian world consolation and sympathy, and to the soul of the pope eternity, tranquility and peace".
