Work on four-lane road to Alagarkovil to be completed by Nov

Madurai: State public works department (PWD) minister E V Velu on Wednesday inspected road development work for the Melur-Alagarkovil Road expansion to reduce traffic congestion on the major road connecting Alagarkovil hill, where the famous Sundararaja Perumal (Kallazhagar) Temple is located. The work is being undertaken at Rs221 crore under the chief minister's road development programme. Melur-Alagarkovil Road gets a lot of traffic daily, especially because of devotees visiting the Kallazhagar temple . Hence, it was planned and proposed to expand this existing two-lane, 3.14km long stretch from Kallandhiri bridge to Alagarkovil into four-lane to ease traffic congestion. Velu, who was accompanied by state commercial taxes minister P Moorthy, instructed officials to complete the work at the earliest and open the road for public use. Meanwhile, officials said that already two phases as part of the project in 2023 were completed at a cost of Rs20 crore each. In the first phase, a two-lane road connected Alagarkovil Road in Madurai city limits to the outskirts. The second phase consisted of a four-lane road that connected to Kallandhiri under Madurai rural district limits. The final phase from Kallandhiri bridge to Alagarkovil, is to be completed by Nov this year. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Glicemia alta? Many wondered how he always seemed to be at the right place at the right time. He responded modestly, explaining that he's usually just at home unless travelling for weddings. One asked for his lens setting, and he readily obliged. He even lauded a follower's effort to capture the skies using a simple phone setup, encouraging the idea that photography is for everyone. To further demystify his process, Joseph shared a comparison of the edited and raw versions of his lightning photo. He explained that while editing plays a role, the real magic lies in capturing the perfect shot directly in camera. His aim, he said, wasn't to document reality but to express creativity, highlighting that how an image is processed ultimately comes down to an artist's individual vision. — josephradhik (@josephradhik) What do you think of his shots?

Why your US tourist visa might get rejected: Reasons nobody warns you about

The idea of visiting the United States, strolling through Central Park, gazing at the Grand Canyon, or finally taking that Instagram selfie in front of the White House is thrilling. But that excitement can come crashing down with one cold, impersonal email from the US Embassy: Your visa application has been refused under Section 214(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Every year, thousands of people face this rejection, and many are left scratching their heads wondering, What went wrong? The truth? It's not always about what you did, but what they think you might do. You didn't prove you'll come back. Yes, seriously. This is the big one. The US visa officers don't care how well you planned your Disneyland trip or how many friends you have in New York. They want proof that you're going to return home after your trip. US Embassy warns Indian travel agents of its Visa Restriction Policy. If you don't have strong 'ties' to your country like a stable job, family you support, property in your name, or clear financial responsibilities your application will likely trigger alarm bells. In visa speak, this means you're a 'potential immigrant.' They don't want tourists who might quietly stay back and blend in. Hot tip: Show ties that bind you home. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Glicemia alta? Misture 1 gota disso no copo e teste Saúde Melhor Idade Veja agora Undo A letter from your employer, property documents, or even proof of caregiving responsibilities (like elderly parents or kids) can help. Your financials don't add up 'Show money' matters. If your bank statement shows ₹50,000 but you claim you're planning a 15-day trip covering Los Angeles, Vegas, and Miami – they're not going to buy it. Even if a friend or relative is sponsoring your trip, they still want you to have some financial skin in the game. Otherwise, they suspect you might become a burden on the US system. Pro tip: Don't just dump money into your account right before applying. They can see recent deposits. Build your financial trail over months. Your story has holes or too much drama Consistency is key. If you say you're going to visit your cousin in Chicago for her wedding, but she's not listed anywhere in your application or worse, you stumble when the officer asks for her address you're in trouble. Also, avoid sounding like you're planning a life event. Things like, 'I need a fresh start,' or 'I just want to experience American freedom,' might sound poetic, but to the officer, they scream red flag. Stick to the facts: Be honest and straightforward about why you're going, where you're staying, and when you're coming back. You've got a messy immigration history If you've overstayed a visa before, been deported, or even just had a previous visa rejection, you're already on thin ice. They keep detailed records, and one red mark can haunt you. Also, if a family member of yours is undocumented in the US, that could indirectly affect your case, especially if you're visiting them. Advice: If there's anything questionable in your past, be ready to explain it convincingly. You didn't prep for the interview (and it showed) Some people walk into the visa interview like it's a casual chat. It's not. It's an assessment. The officer might only have 2–3 minutes with you, and if you appear confused, nervous, or contradict your own paperwork, your case weakens fast. Also: vague answers are a huge no-no. 'I just want to travel' isn't enough. Be specific. 'I'm visiting my brother in Texas for 10 days during the Thanksgiving break, and I have approved leave from my employer,' is better. Practice your answers like it's a job interview. Clarity and confidence make a big difference. You submitted half-baked or shady paperwork Yes, people still forge documents and get caught. Even things like unclear invitation letters, missing employment proof, or inconsistent travel plans can be deal-breakers. The consular officers are trained to catch fakes, and once you're blacklisted, good luck applying again. Moral of the story: Keep it clean, complete, and truthful. So, what's the takeaway? Getting a US tourist visa isn't a lottery, but it's not a guarantee either. It's more like a high-stakes job application where you're trying to convince someone that you're trustworthy, stable, and will do exactly what you say you'll do: visit and return. If you're planning to apply, take it seriously. Prep like you're auditioning for your dream vacation because you kind of are. And if you've been rejected once, don't panic. Many people get approved on their second or third try after fixing the gaps. Just remember: the more grounded your story, the stronger your case. Operation Sindoor showcased India's defence might: Fadnavis

1 2 3 4 5 6 Nagpur/Chandrapur/Amravati: People from all walks of life participated in the Tiranga Yatra organized in honour of the armed forces across the region on Sunday. At Saoner in Nagpur district, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the defence personnel for their bravery. "India's military prowess was showcased in the war with Pakistan," he said. "In response to the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, our Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor , destroying nine terrorist training camps in Pakistan. Fourteen members of terrorist Masood Azhar's family, who were involved in bomb blasts in India, were killed," Fadnavis said. The CM said India has firmly warned Pakistan that if any terrorist organisation attacks India in future, it will be treated as an attack by Pakistan itself, and India will strike back even inside their territory. Fadnavis stressed that this operation showcased India's advanced defence capabilities, particularly in countering drone and aircraft attacks from Pakistan. "India also gave a strong response to Pakistan's strikes carried out using drones and aircraft, ensuring not a single attack was successful. After India's 'BrahMos missile' destroyed Pakistan's air bases, Pakistan realised it could not go to war with India, begged for a ceasefire and surrendered. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Glicemia alta? BJP city president Nitin Dhande, Kiran Paturkar, Shivrai Kulkarni, Sunil Kale, and BJP office-bearers took part in the rally along with former soldiers. Navneet Rana while addressing the gathering criticised Pakistan for supporting terrorists.
