The Bloomington Academy celebrates 10 years of educational excellence with British ambassador's visit
The Bloomington Academy, Ajman's pioneering British School Overseas accredited institution, marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its 10th anniversary with a grand event. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Edward Hobart, British ambassador to the UAE, and brought together founding families, North Point Education (NPE) leadership, students, parents, and faculty.
The festivities commenced with Hobart and Lanson Lazar, chairman of NPE, planting a commemorative sapling and unveiling a special plaque to honour the school's decade-long journey. This was followed by an engaging school tour, showcasing students' scientific innovations, a captivating Jane Austen skit, musical performances, and demonstrations of the Model United Nations and TEDx initiatives.
Reaffirming its commitment to social responsibility, The Bloomington Academy made a generous charitable contribution to the Red Crescent. The celebrations concluded with a special Iftar gathering, where Hobart met with the founding parents, reflecting on the school's remarkable growth and achievements.
Recognising the academy's outstanding contributions to education, Hobart expressed his admiration for its journey over the past decade, highlighting key accomplishments such as the ESAFE Award, Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards, the prestigious Madam Sosamma Lazar 100% Scholarship Award, and its British School Overseas accreditation. He also commended the institution's dedication to community service.
"In 2014, when the initial study was founded and set up for this building, it's unbelievable that it came up in just six months," said Hobart. "Now, 11 years later, it is heartening to see this thriving school community and witness its many achievements. The awards, the dedication, and the impact on young learners are a testament to the hard work that has gone into building this institution. Congratulations, and best wishes for continued success."
Reflecting on this momentous occasion, Lazar remarked, "A decade of excellence is not just a milestone; it is a celebration of the collective spirit, creativity, and perseverance that have fueled our community's pursuit of educational excellence. As we mark this achievement, we honor the past, embrace the present, and shape the future."
Offering EYFS to A Levels and BTEC qualifications, The Bloomington Academy proudly represents a diverse student body comprising 64 nationalities.
