Birkenstock slashes the price of its iconic Arizona sandals by 23%

When it comes to summer a pair of Birkenstock Arizonas are the top choice for most of us, and you can currently save £25 on them thanks to Schuh's summer sale With the sun set to return (hopefully) any day now and another mini heatwave on the horizon, we're still firmly in the throes of sandal season, and there's one pair that you'll have seen every fashion editor and celebrity wearing year after year; the Birkenstock Arizona sandals. Everyone from Kendall Jenner to Drew Barrymore and Kate Hudson have been spotted wearing a pair over the years, cementing them as the go-to style for fashion lovers everywhere. Although they're more affordable than most A-lister's purchases, their £105 price tag can still be a little steep for some. That's why now is the perfect time to get your hands on a pair, as Schuh has just knocked a huge 23% off them in its summer sale. Now available for £79.99, the discount will save you £25. You can choose from six different colours, although it's worth noting that not all of them are on sale, whilst others have a slightly lower discount applied to them. There are also several other Birkenstock colour options available on Schuh to shop, some with a discount of up to 26%. However it's the khaki pair that are on sale for £79.99, and it's the perfect versatile colourway that will go with everything. Not quite as harsh as black or as difficult to co-ordinate with as some of the bolder shades, the khaki green pair look timeless and sophisticated, and work with just about any other colour in your wardrobe. The Arizona Oiled Leather Sandals are made with premium leather uppers in the signature two-strap design, which fasten with a fully adjustable buckle. The other Birkenstock trademark is the contoured footbed, which contours to your feet over time for a personalised fit that makes them extra comfortable to wear. If you want a slightly more affordable pair, Hush Puppies' Blaire Mule Sandals are priced at £60 and have an almost identical look, with a moulded cork footbed and double strap fastening. The straps are made from real leather with a soft suede finish to ensure there's no rubbing, and shoppers have praised them in reviews for how comfortable and easy to wear they are. Elsewhere New Look has its own high street version, with the Cream Faux Leather Buckled Strap Sandals coming in at a very affordable £16.99. They're part of New Look's Comfort range, which feature cushioned padding, softer linings and flexible soles, and have faux leather straps. However if you've always wanted a pair of Birkenstock Arizona sandals to add to your collection, Schuh's summer sale is the perfect opportunity. They're currently still available in all sizes from a 3 to an 8, and you can pick up larger sizes in the identical men's version, which is also on sale.

I found the best £65 lookalike for Dr Martens £150 fisherman sandals at Fat Face

Fat Face's suede fisherman sandals are giving serious Dr Martens Wrenlie vibes, and they're almost £90 cheaper and comfortable from the very first wear with no breaking in Summer is all about sandals, and this year's trending style is undoubtedly the fisherman sandal. One of the first brands to hop on the fisherman sandal wagon was Dr Martens, with its Wrenlie Sandals priced at £150. For those coveting this pair and looking to save some money, Schuh currently has them on sale down to £109.99. However, if you want to save even more Fat Face's Elodie Tan Brown Fisherman Sandals are even more reasonably priced at £65.50, and have a very similar look. I couldn't resist getting my hands on them to see if they lived up to the hype. First things first, they're incredibly well made. The Elodie Fisherman Sandals are made from real leather with a soft, flexible suede finish that means they don't rub or cause blisters, even from the very first wear. The inner sole is also made from real leather and has a soft cushioning to it which means you can wear them all day without aches or pains, as it helps cushion the impact of each step. My only real gripe is that the leather sole does leave your feet feeling a little sweaty when it's hot, although the cage design allows for quick cooling down. They fasten with an adjustable buckle around the ankle which has a good variation of holes so you can fasten them as snugly or loosely as you need. The platform sole is also fab for giving you some extra height, and is flexible enough to move with your feet when you're walking. The perfect combination of chic, quirky and androgynous, fisherman sandals are easy to wear with anything from barrel leg jeans to flowing boho midi dresses, so whatever your style you can seamlessly incorporate them into your wardrobe. Although they're trending right now they have a timeless charm that means you could wear them for years to come. If you want something that looks a little more sophisticated, the Ida Fisherman Sandals from Mafalda come in both burgundy and green leather, and have a leather caged design with a narrower, squared off toe. Alternatively the Willow Fisherman Sandals from Free People have a softer, more rounded silhouette with leather straps and a choice of three colours. Meanwhile at Schuh, Vagabond's Ellis Fisherman in Brown are on sale down from £130 to £89.99, and have a similar suede cage design as my Fat Face pair. However rather than a platform sole they have a low block heel, which makes them perfect for wearing for things like summer weddings or dinners out. However for me, Fat Face's Elodie Fisherman Sandals are a definite winner. They're lightweight and comfortable, and look expensive and trendy whilst still being timeless. As they're a new launch, they currently only have five reviews, but every single one is a glowing five star rating. Praise ranges from how they 'feel like air' to 'the best sandals I have worn in years' – and I have to say I agree.

Damart cuts 50% off Birkenstock-like sandals that are shaped to hug your feet

Damart's double strap sandals are the perfect lookalike for Birkenstock's Arizona sandals, and now you can save 50% on them as they're slashed to under £25 There's nothing better than a pair of sandals during the summer months, and one of the most-loved styles has to be a double strap footbed pair. Although Birkenstock's Arizona sandals are the original pair that everyone covets, they can be a little pricey – even though they're currently on sale at Schuh down from £105 to £78.99. However we spotted a fantastic lookalike pair at Damart, with the Piedical Mule sandals not only already more affordable at £49, but thanks to the brand's current sale they've been slashed by 50% to £24.50. That makes their sale price more than £50 cheaper than the Birkenstock pair, whilst still giving you a similar look. The sandals come in four different colours, with taupe, brown, blue and coral options to choose from. However currently it's only the toffee brown shade that's on sale; the others are still full price at £49, and all colours are available in sizes 3 to 8. Made from 100% real leather with a suede finish, the double straps mirror the iconic design and have fully adjustable buckle fastenings that lets you get just the right fit on your feet. The corkbed-style soles are also ideal for getting the look, and are made with piedical for a truly supportive fit. One reason the Piedical Mule sandals are so popular is that the footbed itself is also shaped to your foot, offering plenty of support to make sure they're comfortable enough to wear all day. This style of sandals have been a bit hit thanks to how versatile and easy they are to style. You can wear them with everything from jeans and jumpers to midi dresses, denim shorts and mini skirts, making them a great addition to your wardrobe. Of course there are plenty of other brands offering similar styles, too. New Look's Brown Faux Suede Buckled Strap Sandals are perfect for shoppers on a budget, priced at £16.99 and made from faux suede with four colour options available. Elsewhere, Reef's Ojai Two Bar Sandals are priced at £110 and made from an ultra soft suede material with a footbed that's been anatomically contoured and topped with a plush suede sock for extra comfort underfoot. However, Damart's Piedical Mule sandals have been highly praised by shoppers, who love how comfortable they are. One said: 'Very comfortable and a good fit.' Whilst another agreed: 'Love these sandals I knew I would, as they are so like you know what, that I have been wearing for years, but they are a lovely colour, and very nice fabric sort of a bit more classy really than the norm. They are a good fit, very comfortable and I expect wil be hard wearing too, roll on summer.' One did mention: 'Loved the colour and fits well. A little disappointed with the hight of the heel, I thought from seeing the picture they were slightly higher. But have kept them.' But others were full of praise, saying: 'Love these, ordered the Tan, so comfy to wear so ordered the blue. Great price.'

Spain's Victoria Shoes launches London pop-up

Spanish footwear brand Victoria Shoes is landing in London this month, opening its first UK pop-up in east London's Truman Brewery on Dray Walk. The Bodega-style (a small, owner-operated convenience store, often with ethnic market influences) store brings the best of Victoria with a collection that highlights its latest footwear, garment and accessories drops – while showing 'what Victoria Shoes is all about, both from a brand universe and culture perspective'. The mainstay element of its footwear is the brand's sweet-smelling strawberry soles — they came to life when natural quality rubber was unavailable so the brand got creative and masked the car tyre scent with the fragrant fruit. we're told. The pop-up itself is hosting an interactive experience, beginning with an exclusive invite-only private opening night on 22 May. This will be followed by two consecutive consumer days (23-24 May) for shoppers to browse the collections with exclusive gifts reserved for the first 50 guests. Founded in 1915 in the small town of La Rioja, Northern Spain, it now offers 300+ models across womenswear, menswear, and kids. Currently, the brand is sold in 50 countries and is stocked by UK retailers Schuh and M&S.
