13 Pictures of the Edinburgh Marathon over the years
First held in 1982, the annual event has sold out every year for the last 17 years, and is the second largest marathon in the UK outside of London.
The Edinburgh Marathon is a staple in Scotland's athletic calendar and draws hordes of visitors to the capital and many participants support charities and causes close to their hearts, with 5K, 10K and half-marathon among the other races held in the run-up to the 26.2-mile main event.
If you, or someone you know, is taking part this year we would love to hear from you. You can get in touch by visiting our contacts page or sending us a message on Facebook.
