Outlander fans reveal most 'unhinged' things they've done for the show
Outlander fans were asked the craziest thing they've ever done in the name of the show and they did not disappoint with their answers. Outlander fans have been sharing their most wild theories about the show and some have our jaws on the floor. The first series of the prequel Blood of my Blood is set to air this summer and the last series of Outlander has already been been filmed, but there is no release date at the moment. To keep fans entertained during the current 'Droughtlander' the official page on Instagram asked fans for their input on their craziest show theories and the comments section definitely requires some popcorn. The post read: "I'm bored. Comment your hottest Outlander take. I'm not talking about "Jamie is better than Frank", I'm talking your unhinged theories, characters you hate to love, the craziest thing you'd do for Outlander." Fans who opted to talk about the craziest thing they'd do for Outlander certainly did not disappoint. One wrote: "Craziest thing I'd do for outlander? WELL, seeing as how I moved to Scotland, opened a tour company because of Outlander, got married last week at J&C's same location to a Scotsman.. yeah no I'm not unhinged at all." While one said: "I travelled to Scotland by myself to see the filming locations. That's the craziest thing I have ever done for a tv show", another said: "I travelled halfway across the world all by myself to visit Scotland!" Another commented that they made friends due to the show: "Travelled to meet up and stay with friends I'd only ever known online—just so we could fangirl together at Outlander events! No regrets, just epic memories" One fan even said that she named her son after Jamie, she said: "I don't consider it unhinged by my 2nd son is named James Alexander Malcolm." Another fan even said it inspired her to learn Gaelic: "I started studying Scottish Gaelic after hearing the characters in the series speak it." While one admitted:"I waited in line for 26 hours when Sam did his whisky tour this past February and I was first in line. I still dont think anyone had me beat. Yes you heard that right. 26 hours, all because Outlander made me fall in love with a character and the man who plays him." Outlander has gathered fans from all across the globe with many making the trip to Scotland to see the show filming locations in person. Earlier this year, data from the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA) and Glasgow Caledonian University's Moffat Centre revealed that the Outlander effect played a key role in boosting visitor numbers, particularly at sites linked to the show. The Culloden Visitor Centre, which features prominently in the series, recorded a 42.8 percent increase, drawing 374,443 visitors. Other major attractions also saw substantial growth, with Stirling Castle experiencing a 14.8 percent rise to 594,938 visitors, while St Giles' Cathedral, which featured in Avengers: Infinity War, Frankenstein and Fast & Furious 9, welcomed 1,742,147 people, an 18.3 percent increase. Overall, Scotland's tourist attractions reported a 3.9 percent rise in footfall in 2023, bringing total visitor numbers to 49,708,483. Paid attractions also saw growth, with a 2.4 percent increase pushing numbers to 17,849,139. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
