It ranks all candidates together, no matter their category (General, OBC, SC/ST, etc.).Your CRL is based on your aggregate marks in both for CRL estimate:CRL = [(100 - Your Percentile) 100] Total Candidates AppearedThis helps estimate where you stand nationally among all JEE Advanced test say your percentile is 97, and 1,80,000 students appeared:CRL Rank = [(100 - 97) 100] 1,80,000 = 0.03 1,80,000 = 5,400This means your estimated All India Rank would be around 5, is only based on total marks, not individual subject case two candidates have the same marks, tie-breakers (like higher Maths marks, then Physics, then age) are used to assign CRL rank is the key for seat allotment in IITs and other top engineering colleges.
