#SHOWBIZ: Wedded bliss continues for Siti Saleha and husband
STILL in their honeymoon phase three months into marriage, actress Siti Saleha shared her bliss with husband Joshua Fitton.
"These past three months as husband and wife have been so enjoyable, like an extended honeymoon. It feels as though we've been married much longer," she said.
Siti Saleha credits their comfortable dynamic to their long history.
"Perhaps it's because we've known each other for such a long time. He's my lover, husband, and best friend all in one. He's incredibly calm and consistently brings joy to my life," she told Berita Harian at a recent drama screening.
Despite being married to a fashion designer, the 35-year-old artiste revealed Joshua doesn't dictate her style.
"Being married to a fashion designer is convenient, especially for Raya clothes. However, he never controls what I wear. In fact, I'm usually the one asking for his opinion."
She noted her evolving style perspective.
"Maybe 10 years ago, he was more focused on style, but as he's matured, it's become less of a priority for him.
"My husband has always been supportive of my choices. He wants me to be myself."
She added: "His everyday attire is quite casual, but for formal events, he looks incredibly handsome in a suit. I appreciate his relaxed approach now; it suits him."
Sharing her marital principles, the actress, whose full name is Siti Saleha Mohd Baharum, emphasised trust. "When we're apart, we're not the type to constantly video call. Even when we do connect, it's usually just a quick hello and a chat about important matters.
"Frequent video calls feel a bit awkward for us. Perhaps the strong foundation of trust we have eliminates the need for that," she explained.
Regarding children, the actress of English and Malay heritage said they are open to the blessing of having kids without specific plans.
"If God grants us children soon, we will wholeheartedly accept it. My husband really desires children. I've told him it's all in God's hands."
She added, "We genuinely want children, and at 35, we aren't actively planning or delaying it."
The Outstanding Asia Star Award winner at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024 for her lead role in the Tonton series 'SeOfis', shared her perspective on family questions.
"Right now, I don't feel pressured by questions about children. We've only been married for three months and are still enjoying our honeymoon phase.
"I don't feel any resentment when people ask. If it's meant to happen, it will. Please pray that we will be blessed with children soon."
Siti Saleha and Fitton wed three months after their private engagement in Janda Baik, Pahang, on Feb 15.
Previously, the star of TV3's '7 Hari Mencintaiku' was married to Ahmad Lutfi Azhar from 2017 to 2022.
