CAIRO - 17 March 2025: Dr. Mohamed Ali Fahim, head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, stated that the hot tropical mass will continue to dominate, leading to a significant and sharp rise in temperatures at a critical time for most crops, just hours before the official end of winter in Egypt.
Fahim added that an extremely hot air front coming from the Sahara Desert is deepening and will reach the Sudan Seasonal Low early, causing a significant and sharp rise in temperatures across Egypt.
Fahim explained that Monday will be the peak of the heat wave, reaching record highs in a clear summer across all regions of the country, with temperatures reaching around 36°C in the north and 37°C in the south.
He stressed the need to avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours and to wear appropriate clothing, as the weather will be hot during the day but tends to cool down during the night and early morning hours.
It's worth noting that the Meteorological Authority's forecasts indicate that temperatures will drop again in the coming days, by less than 10 degrees.
