Person critical after being pulled from Wallingford house fire
A person has been taken to the hospital in critical condition following a large house fire in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood early Wednesday morning. Nearly two dozen units responded to the fire, and it has been upgraded to a 2-alarm fire. The fire was reported around 1:10 a.m. at a home on Sunnyside Ave. N, near N Northlake Way. It's unclear how the fire started, but Seattle Fire said they were rescued at least one person from the home. They were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Crews evacuated the building due to concerns of the roof collapsing. Wires are down on the north end of the home. Avoid the area. This is a developing story. 6-year-old pedestrian hit by car, Seattle police investigate
SEATTLE - Police in Seattle are investigating a crash site south of the Cherry Hill area after a 6-year-old girl was struck by an SUV. Timeline The young girl was walking in the crosswalk with her mother when she was struck by the vehicle. Seattle Fire transported her to the hospital with what they believed to be critical injuries. The girl was reportedly thrown into the air by the force of the SUV at Rainier Avenue South and South Charles Street just before noon. The driver cooperated with police and had no signs of impairment. She was not arrested. Upon following up with the girl in the hospital, investigators learned the girl had no broken bones or other significant injuries. Law enforcement warned drivers in the area of traffic backups while the area was closed for investigation. 16-year-old found with gunshot injuries in Seward Park, Seattle on Friday
SEATTLE - One teen was hospitalized overnight for a shooting in South Seattle's Seward Park. The shooting comes on the same night as a separate shooting nearby where a robbery suspect shot at two people in their car. Timeline Seattle police say they received calls of someone threatening a 16-year-old with a gun on Lake Washington Boulevard South. Officers reported hearing shots upon their arrival to investigate the earlier claims. The teen was found by the park's amphitheater with gunshot injuries to his abdomen, according to SPD. First responders carried him about 300 feet to the nearest Seattle Fire truck for immediate medical intervention. From there, police report the teenage victim was transferred to the hospital in serious, but stable condition. What's next Police were not able to find a shooting suspect. Seattle police investigating double shooting downtown
The Brief Officers report witnessing a group of people fighting outside a few blocks from Lumen Field just before the shooting. Police have since arrested two suspects. While Seattle Fire was responding to a man shot in the leg, another victim was shot in the back. SEATTLE - Two people were shot during an overnight incident in Downtown Seattle heading into the early hours of Saturday morning. Seattle police report the incident happened on Second Avenue in the Pioneer Square neighborhood around 2:30 a.m. on May 10. Timeline Just a few blocks away from Lumen Field, Seattle Police officers say they witnessed a lot of what happened from earlier Saturday morning. A group of people were fighting outside when a shooting broke out, according to SPD. Police officers wrapped the first victim's leg in a tourniquet as Seattle Fire rushed him to Harborview Medical Center. At last check Saturday morning, he is stable. Dig deeper While that was all happening, police arrested two suspects and took them in for questioning. It was during that process that they found a firearm. Investigators used a K-9 unit to track down more evidence, but they could not find the second gun that officers believed was used during the shooting. During the investigation, there was another victim who was shot in the lower back. They went to Swedish Hospital on First Hill, then to Harborview Medical Center because of the extent of their injuries. Their condition remained unknown heading into the weekend. Seattle Fire rescues man stranded on Magnolia hillside
The Brief Fire officials asked the public to avoid the south end of Magnolia on Sunday afternoon for a rescue operation. A man was stuck on a hillside with minor injuries. Rescuers were able to use rope tactics to get him to safety. SEATTLE - A man was stranded on a hillside in the area of Magnolia Park on Sunday morning. Timeline Just before 9 a.m. on May 4, Seattle Fire initiated a rope rescue using ladder truck support to help the man who found himself unable to get off a difficult cliff area. The rescue happened on the south end of Magnolia Park, near 32nd Avenue and West Galer Street. First responders asked the public to avoid the area during rescue operations.
