Magical moments were created as the Monklands branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) marked a marvellous milestone. Sixty dynamic dancers were in a spin at Airdrie's Cairnlea Church to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Scottish country dancing in Monklands. A Monklands RSCDS spokesperson said: 'The food was delicious and Ian Muir and his band provided fabulous music. 'We also enjoyed the celebratory 'accordion' cake, cut by Sebastian Wanless, chair elect of RSCDS. 'The wonderful dances included Airdrie Lasses and Golden Years Strathspey, and finished off with the Celebration Circle dance. 'We'd like to thank everyone who came along and contributed in any way to the anniversary event.'
