152 arrested in special drug crackdown operation in Sandakan

SANDAKAN (Apr 24): Police arrested 152 individuals in a month-long special drug crime crackdown operation here, involving raids on 10 locations, including markets and shops suspected of conducting suspicious activities.
Sandakan District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the special operation, known as 'Op Tapis', which concluded on April 20, successfully seized 1.3 kilograms of various types of drugs, including syabu, ketamine and ecstasy, as well as 235 millilitres of mushroom vape liquid.
He said police also confiscated five vehicles and eight pieces of jewellery during the operation, with the total estimated seizure value at RM350,000.
'The arrests also involved women and foreigners … the cases are being investigated under Section 39B, Section 39A(1), Section 15(1)(a), and Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act,' he told reporters here on Thursday.
