'Prank message' about close Israeli attack in Lebanon causes panic

ALBAWABA - A 'Prank message' about a possible Israeli attack in Lebanon causes panic in the Saksakiyeh town in the Sidon District, southern Lebanon, on Sunday.
A state of security alert and tension dominated the Lebanese town after a house received a threatening message, sparking anxiety and confusion among residents, local media explained.
According to the National News Agency (NNA) "The mysterious threat received via phone prompted security authorities to act quickly and launch an immediate investigation to determine the source of the call and its background."

The incident was accompanied by the deployment of security personnel in the area, local media confirmed.
Citizens of the town shared photos online showing the details of the message, which read, "Peace be upon you. Israel welcomes you. We will strike the project near Yassin al-Hallaq between 12 and 3 p.m."

The revelation of the background to the call sparked a wave of anger and disapproval among residents, who viewed this type of behavior as a disregard for public safety, especially given the tense security conditions in southern Lebanon.
A number of residents called on the relevant authorities to "tighten oversight and hold accountable those responsible for such irresponsible behavior," given its negative impact on the general sense of security.

However, the investigations led to a surprising conclusion, as it turned out that "the call was nothing more than a heavy-handed prank by one of the individuals toward his friend," according to NNA.
