Local sports show presenter nominated for Community radio Sports Show Awards
SEDIBENG.- VUT FM Sports Presenter Tshediso Moremoholo has been nominated for Best Sports Show Community Radio Awards Presenter. Moremoholo is one of the most talented sports show presenters to have come from Sedibeng. His passion for sports will go down in the history of sports as one of the upcoming sports presenters destined for a great future in radio broadcasting. He is not just a sports show presenter but also has an eye for talent, especially for soccer stars. Unlike many sports show presenters, Moremoholo is not just sitting in the comfort of his seat but goes out there to watch these youngsters showcase their talent at the dusty soccer grounds in the community. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Moremoholo said this is a dream come true for him to be nominated for this award. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that his passion for the development of sports has come a long way, even before he became a sports presenter. On his Friday Sports Show, Moremoholo invites upcoming athletes to share their inspirational stories with his listeners. The Inaugural Community Radio Awards celebrate local broadcasting presenters. These awards are scheduled to take place in August, with the nominees competing against each other from different community radio stations. Some of the radio station presenters that Moremoholo will be competing against include Alex FM, Wow FM, Westside FM, and Radio Pulpit, among others. Moremoholo said he submitted a clip of one of his sports shows and explained why he thinks it is the best sports show. 'We were asked to submit our clip of our sports show, and I guess my motivation was enough to convince the panel of judges. I'm excited and look forward to rubbing shoulders with other best sports shows presented by the community radio stations. I don't want to lie, this serves as motivation to me by just being nominated for this category. Even if I don't win, it means a lot to me. I want to thank the VUT FM Station manager for giving me this opportunity to showcase my talent, and also my colleagues. And not forgetting the listeners, because these are the people that I serve,' he concluded. At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!

Mohalajeng hails the Vultures Athletics Club Gijima Road Race a success
SEBOKENG.- Petrus Mohalajeng has hailed the Vultures Athletics Club Gijima Road Race as a great success. This 5km and 10km road race took place at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14, Sebokeng, last Sunday. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mohalajeng, who was the organiser of the race, said the race attracted several runners in Gauteng. He said that he was overwhelmed by the number of athletes who came to support this initiative. He also told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the Zone 14 area came to a standstill as the nearby community was out on the streets watching the race. Mohalajeng said the competition was strict with runners setting the bar very high on the day. He added that he was amazed by the high standard from all the participants, from juniors, seniors, masters, and grand masters. Toma Tsotetsi, Florence Molawa, and Palius Mofokeng were among the notable names who participated in this event. 'I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all the runners who won their respective categories. It was a great day, with athletes showcasing their talent. Rise and Shine Youth Development aims at bringing changes in a special away
SEBOKENG.-Rise and Youth Development, together with Long Ox Sports, Clothing, and Projects, aim to bring change in a special way. This multi-task organisation deals with men's issues, such as social illness and assisting to bring change within the community. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the founder of this organisation, Jacob Nkabinde. The organisation is based in Kanana, Zone 12, Ext 1. Nkabinde is the man behind this initiative, who specialises in youth challenges among other things. Nkabinde told Sedibeng Ster Sport that his organisation intends to organise a fundraising Altra Run Marathon from Sebokeng to the Union Building in Pretoria on June 16. He said the aim of this Altra Run Marathon is to challenge young ministers in Parliament, especially in the sports department, to consider the needs of young people in sports. Nkabinde told Sedibeng Ster Sport that there is so much that needs to be done for township sports, especially since there are no proper sports facilities in the community. The Altra Run Marathon initiative is to raise funds to build netball and basketball courts in my community. Nkabinde confirmed with Sedibeng Ster Sport that there are no netball and basketball facilities in Kanana where young people can keep themselves busy playing the sport. 'Look, next year we are planning an Altra Run Marathon to the Union Building to get the attention of the Minister of Sports because we need netball and basketball courts in our community. This area has been neglected for a long time, and it is high time we, as young people, fight for what we deserve. Not having sports facilities in the community can result in a high rate of crime because young people are idling. This is the biggest challenge we face in our community, the lack of sports facilities,' he concluded. At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
