Vishwanath, a computer and electrical engineer by training, has a held variety of leadership roles, including CMO for CoreStack; head of marketing at Edifecs and Roundglass Living; and CEO of Nimbic. He is also the author of 'First70: The B2B Go-to-Market Advantage.' Founded in 2017, SeekOut's software is used by more than 1,000 companies to help with recruiting. It pulls data on millions of potential candidates from a myriad of sources, including GitHub and published papers. 'My mission is simple: help every talent leader understand the incredible opportunities this transformation creates and how they can lead the way in their industry,' Vishwanath said on LinkedIn. SeekOut reached a billion-dollar valuation in 2022 but later went through layoffs in recent years as tech companies navigated the economic downturn — Chad Cohen, Zillow's former chief financial officer, joined the board of directors for Grindr and will also serve as chair of the audit committee for the social media and dating company, which bills itself as the 'global gayborhood in your pocket.' Cohen is also CEO and founding partner of Seattle's Scala Advisors. He was previously CFO for Adaptive Biotechnologies and held executive titles for Capella Space, a satellite-based earth observation company. '[Cohen's] broad experience and deep expertise in helping grow successful public companies will be an invaluable asset to Grindr,' said CEO George Arison, in a statement. — Another longtime Seattle tech vet, former Zulily CEO Darrell Cavens, recently joined the board of another dating giant: Match Group. Cavens was CTO at Blue Nile before leading online retailer Zulily for more than eight years. He's also on the board of Vouched, Brooks Running, Rad Power Bikes and Tapestry. In February, former Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff was named CEO of Dallas-based Match Group, which oversees a portfolio of leading dating apps including Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid and Pairs. Don Rogers. The Seattle company provides tech-related services to clients including Allstate, Hyatt, Microsoft, REI and others. It has 53 offices in 12 countries. Rogers, who is based in St. Louis, Miss., joins Slalom from the technology integration company World Wide Technology, where he founded and led its manufacturing industry practice. Garth Fort. (LinkedIn Photo) — Garth Fort has joined LogicMonitor as chief product officer. Fort was at Microsoft for more than two decades, ending in 2017. More recent past roles include general manager for Amazon Web Services; CPO at Splunk, which was acquired by Cisco; and he co-founded Fort5, which provided strategic advice to technology companies. LogicMonitor, which was last valued at more than $2.4 billion, provides technology for data center operations. 'The team is building something powerful at the intersection of agentic AI and IT observability,' Fort said on LinkedIn, 'and I'm thrilled to help lead that charge.' — Dave Goto is now chief marketing officer for Ozlo, an audio technology and manufacturing company selling 'sleepbuds' to aid with sleep. Goto, who is based in Seattle, previously worked at Oura, lululemon and Red Bull. — Seattle data storage company Qumulo announced that Kelly Battles and Bob Gleichauf have joined its board of directors. Battles has served as chief financial officer for multiple companies, including Quora and Bracket Computing. Gleichauf was chief technologist for In-Q-Tel and CTO of the Security Business Group at Cisco, among other roles. — Kestra Medical Technologies elected Conor Hanley to its board. The Kirkland, Wash., company sells wearable devices to detect and respond to sudden cardiac arrest. It went public in March. Hanley is CEO of FIRE1 (Foundry Innovation & Research 1), which is developing technology that monitors for heart failure. — Tyler Phillipi, former chief product officer for Seattle-area EV startup FlexCharging, is now CEO of OptiGrid. The company is building battery-integrated DC fast chargers, which allows for energy to be stored onsite, reducing the need for electrical grid upgrades. FlexCharging was acquired by Accurant International and now operates as FlexEnergi. — Lainie del Rosario has been promoted to the role of chief information officer for Sound Physicians. SeekOut Appoints Veteran B2B Executive Bala Vishwanath as Chief Marketing Officer to Lead Talent Acquisition's Agentic AI Revolution

Enterprise Marketing Leader Joins to Accelerate Industry Transformation as Companies Race from AI-Powered to AI-Autonomous Recruiting Bala Vishwanath SEATTLE, June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SeekOut, the Agentic AI talent acquisition platform, today announced Bala Vishwanath as Chief Marketing Officer, positioning the company to lead recruiting's most fundamental transformation since the dawn of the internet. This strategic appointment comes as enterprises have an unprecedented opportunity to embrace Agentic AI and gain significant competitive advantages in securing top talent. The talent acquisition industry stands at a critical inflection point. While many organizations celebrate basic AI-powered tools that assist recruiters, a seismic shift to autonomous AI agents is already underway. These agents work continuously, sourcing across platforms, conducting deep research and managing personalized campaigns with superhuman scale and precision. Organizations that embrace this evolution early will gain tremendous competitive advantages in securing exceptional talent. "We're witnessing the emergence of Vertical AI with specialized autonomous agents built for specific functions," said Anoop Gupta, co-founder and CEO of SeekOut. "Just as AI transformed finance and healthcare, it's now redefining talent acquisition. Bala understands how to evangelize category-defining transformations. He'll ensure every enterprise leader grasps a simple truth: Agentic AI isn't coming. It's here, and it's creating incredible opportunities for forward-thinking organizations." SeekOut bridges the transformation gap with two revolutionary approaches. SeekOut Recruit represents the "you do it" solution, empowering internal teams with AI superpowers, including semantic search across one billion profiles and intelligent automation. For organizations ready to leap forward, SeekOut Spot delivers the "we do it" experience through true Agentic AI, where autonomous agents work alongside expert advisors to deliver qualified, interested candidates in 3 to 14 days, versus the industry's 60- to 80-day standard. "Every filled position with exceptional talent becomes a competitive advantage for your organization," said Bala Vishwanath. "SeekOut Spot doesn't just accelerate hiring. It fundamentally breaks the speed-quality paradox that has plagued recruiting forever. When AI agents evaluate thousands of candidates in parallel while human experts ensure nuance and fit, you don't get incremental improvement. You get transformation. My mission is simple: help every talent leader understand the incredible opportunities this transformation creates and how they can lead the way in their industry." With over 25 years leading B2B marketing transformations, including establishing CoreStack as the definitive enterprise cloud governance leader, Vishwanath will spearhead SeekOut's market expansion as enterprises worldwide embrace Agentic AI. About SeekOut SeekOut is the Agentic AI talent acquisition platform transforming how enterprises discover and hire exceptional talent. The company's dual approach includes SeekOut Recruit, the "you do it" AI-powered platform trusted by over 1,000 enterprises, and SeekOut Spot, the "we do it" Agentic AI service where autonomous agents and expert advisors deliver complete hiring outcomes. Founded in 2018, SeekOut has raised $189 million from Tiger Global, Madrona and Mayfield, achieving a $1.2 billion valuation. I've landed 8 work opportunities through networking alone. These 3 tips got me in the door at companies like Bank of America.

Being an adoptee from China didn't just impact my passion for building inclusive communities — it ignited it. My dream was battle-tested as I grew up, switching schools multiple times, dealing with bullying, and ultimately leaving college early to finish online due to my living situation. Instead of extinguishing my spirit, these experiences crystallized into a unique superpower: I now understood how to use my voice as an agent for positive change. I've persuaded tech executives to crown the mental health nonprofit I founded with an award, encouraged others to speak up in class, and ultimately landed multiple internships and jobs. I'm now 23, and I've secured three internship offers at Bank of America, received offers from multiple startups, and became the first product manager at SeekOut through networking alone. I've landed eight roles in total, both temporary and permanent. Here are my top three tips to channel your voice to maximize your networking. 1. Master cold outreach I didn't attend a top school for computer science. Knowing I probably couldn't rely on my environment for an abundance of career opportunities, I created my own. My first goal was to get a summer internship. I joined free online career communities, such as Rewriting the Code, to meet other ambitious students. I also emailed my favorite professors to inquire about research internships and consistently posted on LinkedIn. This extremely simple concept of asking for what you want and expressing who you are accelerated my career growth. If you don't know where to start, first identify your top career goal and then write a message to someone who can potentially help. Crafting the ideal message requires three simple steps that I honed for years: Introduce yourself as who you want to be Concise is key — no busy person has time to read multiple paragraphs Include a call-to-action as a question that creates a win-win situation Many say cold outreach is a numbers game and you just get lucky. While it is a numbers game, solidifying the right approach matters, too. If you follow the three steps and reach out to people on LinkedIn, via email, and other platforms, you'll get closer and closer to your dream career opportunity. 2. Skip school career fairs and attend specialized events instead My hot take is that most school career fairs won't truly level up your career. If you have ambitious goals, I recommend meeting actual hiring decision-makers at in-person tech events. San Francisco and NYC offer panels, fireside chats, hackathons, and mixers. You can find these events on apps like Luma or Meetup, and by following LinkedIn Top Voices. Founders at tech companies can make invaluable introductions, invite you to join their teams as an intern, invest in your ideas, or even mentor you. I attended the free Harvard Women in Entrepreneurship fireside chat with the nonprofit Foundess and connected with multiple clients seeking career coaching. I teach this approach because many driven students and job seekers don't try it, which means competition can be nearly nonexistent. Always try to meet the speakers, introduce yourself, and casually mention that you're looking for your next career move. I've seen multiple people succeed with this strategy and eventually land great opportunities. 3. Be a 'go-giver' Being a go-giver is a highly underrated hack. If you want to meet decision-makers who can unlock your next career opportunity, ask to interview your role models for your newsletter, podcast, blog, or community. By giving first, you build genuine connections, strengthen your personal brand, and gain real experience for your résumé. This strategy costs nothing but can dramatically expand both your network and your net worth. I'm currently a founding team member at Start Your Fashion Business Academy, where we help driven women leave their 9-5s and start fashion empires. These three tips collectively advanced my career in ways I never would've imagined.
