Bahrain, Türkiye Strengthen Healthcare Ties at Bosphorus Summit
Bahrain's Minister of Health, Dr. Jaleela bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, met with Semir Ferraoğlu, Head of the Medical Authority between Türkiye and the GCC countries, during the Bosphorus Summit, where discussions focused on expanding cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Jaleela emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships and investment in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, underscoring Bahrain's commitment to advancing healthcare services.
Ferraoğlu praised Bahrain's progress in the healthcare field and reaffirmed Türkiye's dedication to enhancing bilateral collaboration in pharmaceuticals and medical advancements. He also extended his congratulations to Bahrain for a groundbreaking medical achievement—successfully treating a sickle cell patient using CRISPR gene-editing technology, marking the first documented case outside the United States.
The meeting reaffirmed both nations' commitment to innovation in medical research and fostering strategic healthcare partnerships for the future.
