Hampton police seek help in identifying suspect in Greenbriar Avenue shooting
HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton Police Division is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in connection with a shooting that injured one man on Friday afternoon.
Hampton Public Safety Communications received a call Friday in reference to a walk-in gunshot victim at the Sentara CarePlex at approximately 3:40 p.m.
When officers arrived, they made contact with a man suffering from a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation determined the victim was walking in the 600 block of Greenbriar Avenue when he was approached by the suspect. Following a verbal altercation, the suspect discharged a firearm, striking the victim.
