7 arrested after Clarens ATM bombing and police chase
Police have arrested seven suspects in connection with an ATM bombing in Clarens, Free State, earlier this week. The seven individuals, aged between 24 and 36, were arrested in Ficksburg yesterday after SAPS officers spotted a Toyota Fortuner parked near an ATM at about 01:00. 'Two males were seen tampering with the ATM. Upon noticing the police presence, the suspects attempted to flee the scene. A vehicle pursuit ensued, culminating in the successful apprehension of the Fortuner's five occupants, including one woman,' police spokesperson Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli said in a statement. All suspects are foreign nationals. Four of them have been confirmed as undocumented immigrants. The suspects were wanted in connection with the bombing of an ATM located at a petrol station in Clarens, on Tuesday. Upon receiving the alert, members of the Clarens SAPS responded swiftly. 'Preliminary investigations confirmed that explosives had been used to destroy the ATM and an undisclosed sum of money was stolen. 'Initial reports pointed to four suspects travelling in a blue Toyota Fortuner with Gauteng registration plates. This vital information was immediately circulated and a co-ordinated manhunt was launched,' SAPS said. The blue Toyota Fortuner has been seized as evidence in the ongoing investigation. 'The suspects will appear in the Clarens and Ficksburg magistrate's courts in due course. The provincial Serious, Violent and Murder Unit has taken over the investigation, focusing on charges of business robbery and other possible related offences. Man killed after being hit by van in 'road rage' horror
A man was killed after being hit by a van in a 'road rage' horror incident in Oldham on Wednesday night (March 26). Police and paramedics raced to the scene of the fatal crash on the Chadderton Roundabout off Broadway, near to the Elk Mill Shopping Park shortly after 7pm. A huge cordon was put in place as Serious Collision officers and traffic cops attended the incident. An air ambulance was also scrambled to the scene and landed nearby. He has not yet been identified. The suspect, the driver of the van, then fled the scene, with a manhunt now ongoing to find him. Police confirmed they were called to reports of a 'serious assault' involving a van striking a male pedestrian. One witness said the victim, who was in a car, 'got out to speak to the other driver' before he was deliberately struck. A major emergency response was called to the scene. Fire crews also attended the incident, beside the A627(M) slip road, and erected dignity screens. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Emergency services are responding to reports of a serious assault on Broadway in Chadderton this evening. A van collided with a male pedestrian, who sadly died at the scene. "Officers are making enquiries to locate the offender. Penn State Thespian Society presents 'Legally Blonde' the musical March 27th-29th
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WTAJ) — Penn State Thespian Society, which is a theater group based out of Penn State University that brings non-theater major students together over their love of theater. For their spring musical they selected Legally Blonde the musical. Robert Connolly is a senior who is directing the show. Delaney Beal plays the role of Elle Woods, and Jude Musolino, plays Warner Huntington III. The students discuss how they decided on the show, the process of auditions and rehearsals, the storyline of the show, and what they enjoy about their roles. This is the scene where Elle is anticipating a proposal from Warner, but he has other plans. Delaney Beal as the role of Elle Woods performing the song, 'So Much Better.'
