Police hunting for missing 'vulnerable' teen girl, 18, find pile of her clothes on beach she was last seen walking to alone

A search is underway for a missing 'vulnerable' teenage girl after a pile of her clothes were seen on a beach. Serren Bennet, 18, was seen walking alone towards the Church Lane area of Guisborough, North Yorkshire around 7pm on Sunday, June 8. She was then last seen on CCTV walking towards Redcar beach alone at around 9pm. Police believe she stayed in the vicinity of the beach. Her family members confirmed the clothing recovered from the beach was Serren's. She is described as 5'6' tall with brown hair and brown eyes and she was wearing a black coat with fur on the hood, a black skirt, black tights and black shoes. Serren's family is currently being supported by specially trained officers as enquiries continue. Superintendent Emily Harrison said: 'From CCTV, we can see that Serren headed towards the beach alone on the evening of Sunday 8th June. 'Clothing has been recovered from the beach which has been confirmed by family as belonging to Serren. In last seen images of Serren she was pictured in a black coat with fur on the hood, a black skirt, black tights and black shoes 'We have no other missing people reported to us in this area. We have specialist officers supporting Serren's family and providing them with updates on police activity during this extremely difficult time. 'Our enquiries are now centred around the beach as we continue to do everything possible to locate Serren as quickly as we can.' On Sunday, police said Serren's disappearance was described as 'out of character for her'. Anyone who may have seen Serren at the beach, on the stretch between Majuba car park and South Gare, on the evening of Sunday, June 8, is urged to contact Cleveland Police.
