United Way of Smith County volunteers make blankets for children
TYLER, Texas (KETK) — People volunteered with United Way of Smith County on Friday to make comfort blankets for children who were removed from their homes by CPS, volunteer opportunities continue until Saturday.

The Serve United event held volunteers two separate times on Friday to make blankets for children removed from their homes by CPS. The blankets run through the nonprofit, Blankets of Comfort Ministries, who partnered with United Way of Smith County to host at Tyler Junior College.
Serve United will be held again Saturday at TJC West Campus from 9 a.m. to noon and they hope to make 100 blankets.
