Punjab launches agricultural projects to support farmers with modern facilities
Punjab has launched multiple agricultural projects to provide farmers with modern facilities under one roof, including the Green Agri Mall and Services Company, smart farms, and research centres.
The inauguration ceremonies in Kundian and Shapur were attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir.
Federal ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Dr Musadik Malik, along with provincial ministers and senior officials, were also present.
The Green Agri Mall will offer farmers quality seeds, fertilisers, and pesticides at subsidised rates. Modern agricultural machinery, including drones, will be available for rent, ensuring all farming needs are met under one platform.
A 5,000-acre smart farm, equipped with modern irrigation and farming techniques, was also launched to promote sustainable agriculture and higher yields with lower costs.
The agricultural research centre will provide soil testing, laboratory services, and serve as a hub for agricultural education and research across Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the projects mark the beginning of an agricultural revolution in Punjab, ensuring farmers' growth and Pakistan's prosperity. She also distributed land allotment letters to children of martyrs and injured veterans.
In his address, the Army Chief Gen Asim Munir said Punjab has become Pakistan's agricultural powerhouse. He said the leadership role of Punjab and its farmers in modern agriculture is commendable.
General Syed Asim Munir appreciated the efforts and successes made under the Punjab government's Green Corporate project in a short time, describing them as encouraging and a harbinger of progress.
He said the army will continue to fully support the country's economic development.
