Prio is currently a regional special education director for the Iowa Department of Education leading statewide initiatives that impact more than $45,000 students. He has also served as a school board member, nonprofit leader, and volunteer. He was named Iowa School Psychologist of the Year from the Iowa School Psychologist Association in 2021, and continues to shape best practices through state task forces and national conferences.
'Seth brings exceptional vision and a tireless work ethic to educational leadership,' said Dr. Angelisa Fynaardt, Iowa Department of Education. Dr. Cindy Yelick of Heartland AEA added, 'His leadership has transformed how we support students across Northwest Iowa.'
Agency officials said Piro is a seasoned education leader with more than two decades of experience. He's set to begin as chief administrator role on July 1.
