Severna Park's boys' lacrosse dynasty continues with ninth straight title
OWINGS MILLS, Md. — After an outcome that has come to be widely expected, it was only around a junior midfielder's neck that one could find something abnormal Wednesday night. It was normal for Severna Park to pull away for a comfortable win. It was normal for the Falcons to win a state championship, beating Towson, 11-4, in Wednesday's Maryland Class 3A final at Stevenson University — the program's ninth consecutive state title. It was normal for a season to end in happy hugs, as coach Bob Zichelli pulled every single one of his 47 players in close, pressing their dripping wet hair into his cheek, after they received their championship medals.

Marriotts Ridge stuns Severna Park in Maryland Class 3A girls' lacrosse final
OWINGS MILLS, Md. — As a light rain fell onto the turf at Stevenson University in the early stages of the fourth quarter, it seemed as though the Severna Park girls' lacrosse program was heading into familiar territory. Leading Marriotts Ridge by two goals with six minutes remaining in Wednesday's Maryland Class 3A title game, the Falcons had a three-peat in sight.
