Laceyville man sentenced for possessing child sex abuse materials
LACEYVILLE, Pa. (WETM) – A Laceyville man has been sentenced to serve time in a county correctional facility after officials say he was found with child sex abuse materials. Blake A. Manning, 19, was sentenced to a minimum of six months to a maximum of two years in the Bradford County Correctional Facility, along with five years of probation, for the crime of possession of child sexual abuse material, as stated in a release from the Bradford County District Attorney's Office. Painted Post woman arrested on child sex abuse material charge Officials say Manning was charged with the crime by Pennsylvania State Police in October of 2024 following an investigation where troopers found pictures of two 14-year-old girls on Manning's cell phone. As a result, Manning will be placed on monitoring with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, SORNA and Pennsylvania's version of Megan's Law for 15 years, which will require him to report to state police regularly, said the DA. Convicted sex offender from Bristol arrested as fugitive in Mexico
BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — The United States Marshals Service announced on Tuesday that a Bristol, Virginia man accused of violating the sex offender registry was arrested in Mexico. According to a news release from the Marshals Service, Corey Parton, 36, was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 12, 2024 for allegedly violating the sex offender registry. He was arrested in Mexico on Sunday after marshals provided information to the Federal Police of Mexico. Parton was deported to the U.S. on Monday and taken into the Marshals Service's custody. As of Tuesday afternoon, Parton had yet to appear in court. Court documents obtained by News Channel 11 show Parton is charged with the following: Failure to register as a sex offender or update a registration as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) Failure to provide information required by SORNA relating to intended travel in foreign commerce A criminal complaint details the circumstances that led to Parton being required to be registered as a sex offender and his new charges. Subscribe Now Parton reportedly completed his initial registration as a sex offender in Virginia after the conviction. As a Tier III offender, Parton was required to re-register every 90 days. In August 2023, a Virginia State Police (VSP) trooper was sent to investigate Parton, who was registered as living at a Bristol, Virginia address. That trooper reportedly learned that Parton had an Instagram account with a different name, which must be reported to the sex offender registry. The complaint also noted that in August 2023, Parton was on probation and was not allowed to have any social media accounts. Additionally, the VSP trooper reportedly found Parton had a registered vehicle with a listed address in Roanoke, which he also had not reported to the registry. Parton had also allegedly not reported to the proper channels that he had changed his employment and was working at a pizza chain in Blountville. According to the complaint, Parton was sent re-registration forms in May and August 2023 but did not fill them out and submit them. Due to the social media accounts, vehicle registration and employment change, Parton was charged with three registration violations. He was arrested in August 2023 and given a bond. Additional charges were filed against him in September 2023, and a VSP trooper learned Parton had allegedly boarded a cruise ship in Galveston, Texas and gotten off in Cancun, Mexico. Recidivist sex offender sentenced for possession of child sexual abuse material
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A recidivist sex offender was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of child sexual abuse material. Registered sex offender Ricky Grover Aaron, 62, of Charlotte, was also ordered to serve a lifetime of supervised release and pay restitution to his victims. According to court documents and the sentencing hearing, the FBI was conducting an undercover online investigation to identify individuals sharing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) using peer-to-peer file-sharing networks. Investigators determined that Aaron was utilizing a BitTorrent application to make CSAM available for others, and on multiple occasions, were able to download CSAM files from one or more of Aaron's electronic devices. In November 2022, a search warrant was executed at Aaron's residence. Several electronic devices were seized and forensically examined. In total, investigators found that Aaron possessed the equivalent (when taking videos into account) of more than 300,000 CSAM images that depicted minors, including infants, toddlers, and children under the age of 12, being sexually abused and exploited. At the sentencing hearing, the Court also heard that Aaron failed to register as a sex offender inMecklenburg County, after he moved to North Carolina, as he was required to do. Aaron had two convictions prior to this one: a federal conviction for receipt and possession of CSAM and a state conviction for false imprisonment and aggravated exploitation of a minor in Tennessee. Under the provisions of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, convicted sex offenders are required to register with the Sex Offender Registry Board in any state or jurisdiction where they work or reside. On October 29, 2024, Aaron pled guilty to possession of child pornography involving aprepubescent minor or a minor who had not attained age 12. He is in federal custody and will be transferred to the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons upon designation of a federal facility. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat thegrowing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in May 2006 by theDepartment of Justice. MS man sentenced to 15 years for possesion of child porn
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Marshall County, Mississippi man was sentenced to 15 years for possession of child pornography. James Thomas Arnold, 38, of Potts Camps, was charged with possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and sentenced to 15 years in prison. The United States Attorney's Office Northern District of Mississippi says an investigation began when Arnold was discovered using a 'peer-to-peer network' to download videos and images of children under the age of 12 depicting sexual abuse. After his sentence, he will have a 10-year term of supervised release, and he is required to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act. Hartselle man accused of failing to register as sex offender arrested
HARTSELLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A Hartselle man was arrested after being accused of failing to register as a sex offender. The Hartselle Police Department told News 19 that officers arrested Walter Scott Simpson, 53, of Hartselle, for multiple violations of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA). According to HPD, investigators became aware that Simpson had failed to report his information that was required under law. After collaboration with multiple agencies, it was determined that Simpson did not register his information intentionally. In addition, Simpson failed to register during his required time frame with the Hartselle Police Department as well.
