Judge Grants Chris Brown Bail After Alleged Nightclub Assault

A London court has granted Chris Brown bail following charges of grievous bodily harm stemming from an alleged nightclub assault. The singer, who faced initial bail denial, is now free to resume his upcoming world tour, beginning in Amsterdam next month. Court conditions include a multi-million pound security fee and strict travel restrictions. The 36-year-old artist was arrested last week in Salford and charged in connection with an alleged unprovoked attack at a London nightclub in February 2023. He is accused of striking a music producer with a tequila bottle. After spending several days in custody and being refused bail last Friday, Brown was granted release on Wednesday at Southwark Crown Court. Although Brown did not appear in person, the BBC reported that the judge required him to pay a $5.4 million security fee immediately, with an additional $1.3 million due within seven days. A security fee acts as a financial assurance that the defendant will appear in court as required. Despite the serious nature of the charges, Brown has been permitted to continue with his scheduled performances. The tour, marking his 20th anniversary in music, kicks off in Amsterdam on June 8 and includes stops in Manchester, London, Cardiff, Birmingham, and Glasgow. In a post shared after the hearing, Brown expressed his feelings by writing, "FROM THE STAGE TO CAGE TO THE STAGE!!!" on his Instagram Stories and adding, "BREEZYBOWL." While no plea has been entered at this stage, the musician's legal proceedings will continue in the coming months. Brown, known for hits like "Freaky Friday" and "Turn Up the Music," has faced multiple legal issues throughout his career. However, the current case remains under investigation, and the court has imposed additional conditions, including passport monitoring and restricted contact with the alleged victim. Many fans have reacted to news of Brown's release on bail. The Shade Room shared the news of his release on Instagram and several netizens took turns reacting to it. One person who had bought tickets to the singer's tour wrote, "My ticket just smiled." Another fan of Brown expressed delight in his release, writing, "Just leave my fave alone dang y'all knew he had the funds to get out." A third person celebrated that Brown's concert wasn't canceled, writing, "Guys, the concert is still on!" However, a disgruntled fan advised the R&B superstar to stay out of trouble, writing, "Please stay out of jail for this damn tour Chris ... you stressing my nervesssss." Metropolitan Police detectives arrested Chris Brown in the early hours of Thursday, May 15, in connection with an alleged violent incident in 2023. Officers detained the 36-year-old singer shortly after 2 a.m. at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester. According to authorities, the arrest stems from an altercation at the Tape nightclub in Hanover Square, Mayfair, Central London, on February 19, 2023. In a statement, the Metropolitan Police confirmed, "A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, May 15 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody, where he remains." Detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit led the investigation. Reports revealed that Brown had just arrived in Manchester by private jet when police moved in. The alleged victim, music producer Diaw, claimed that Chris Brown attacked him without provocation during a nightclub outing at around 3 am. According to Diaw, the "Under the Influence" singer struck him on the head multiple times with a bottle before kicking and punching him while he was on the ground. "He hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well," Diaw told the press. He required hospital treatment and reportedly needed crutches following his discharge. As a result of the incident, Diaw filed a $16 million civil lawsuit against Brown for damages related to injuries and emotional distress. A day after his arrest, Brown appeared in a Manchester courtroom after he was charged. Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor Adele Kelly confirmed the charge and urged the public not to post content that could affect the case, emphasizing that legal proceedings were ongoing and the accused was entitled to a fair trial.

Nick Cannon's Baby Mama Calls Him Out After He Opens Up About Insuring His 'Balls'

Nick Cannon's baby mama, Alyssa Scott, has responded to his recent comments about insuring his testicles by calling him out on social media. Cannon made headlines after explaining his reason for insuring what he described as his "most valuable asset." However, Scott called the comedian out for not seeing their daughter, Halo Marie, who they welcomed in December 2022, a year after losing their son, Zen. "The Masked Singer" host appeared on the May 1 episode of the "Tea Time with Raven & Miranda" podcast and shared more details about his decision to insure his testicles. Cannon revealed that it all started as a joke. He said, "It started off like, 'Yo, this would be a good joke,' but we really went through with it." Recall that in June 2024, Cannon appeared in a Dr. Squatch commercial and announced that he had insured his testicles for $10 million. During the podcast appearance, he said, "Dr. Squatch, who is like, they're known for like manscaping and all that stuff. They were like, 'Yo, a lot of celebrity women are insuring their legs in case something goes wrong.'" Cannon shared that the company's bosses asked him what his "most valuable asset" was, and he replied, "My balls!" The comedian revealed that he had "the insurance policy in my office," before adding that it was "legit." He also shared, "If I happen to lose one, all the money goes to my kids." Soon after news of Cannon's revelations made headlines, his baby mama, Scott, reposted a video of his interview on her Instagram Stories. However, she took the opportunity to call him out for not visiting his daughter, Halo, for over a month. Scott captioned the reposted video, "Ha ha haaa Funny. Any plans on seeing your child? it's been over a month @nickcannon." However, she celebrated the fact that Cannon's kids will get some money if any harm happens to his testicles by writing, "But good to know she'll get some of your $ if anything happens to your balls smh." The Shade Room, whose video Scott reposted, also shared her Instagram Stories post on the social media platform, and fans took turns sharing their thoughts about her decision to call Cannon out. Most fans felt she had no reason to be mad at Cannon, as he has so many kids with different women that it would be hard for him to keep up. One fan said, "A month ain't bad when you got 200 kids." Another fan opined, "He has a child for each month of the year. Your child's month is probably June relax." A third person asked Scott, "What did you think was gonna happen when you had a baby with a man who has 37 other baby mamas?" Meanwhile, a fourth person advised her, "Girl give him time. You know you gotta wait in line." Although Scott claimed Cannon hadn't seen Halo for over a month, he has always been involved in his kids' lives and lightened up while speaking about them during his podcast appearance. When the podcast hosts Raven-Symoné and Miranda Maday asked Cannon if he was done having kids, he hesitated before going on to say, "I love the baby stage. Baby to toddler. So fun. Because three-year-olds, those are the three-nagers. They think they know everything." The proud dad described his oldest kids, Monroe and Moroccan, as his "homies," adding, "We hang out, went to the movies this weekend and Raising Canes. I'm just the guy with the license." He also revealed that his pre-teens nicknamed him "Cringe Cannon." Cannon later shared that he is open to his kids being involved in the entertainment industry but stressed that they had a different situation than someone new to the scene. He explained, "As the father, I kinda know, I've been here, so I'm never gonna let an agent take advantage of you. I'm never gonna allow you to be on set by yourself, like, because this is my world. There is nepotism that's gonna take place that, like, this is the family business." Cannon is a father of 12. He shares 14-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with his ex-wife, singer Mariah Carey. "The Misfits" star also shares three kids, son Golden Sagon, 8, daughter Powerful Queen, 4, and son Rise Messiah Cannon, 1, with Brittany Bell. Cannon and Abby De La Rosa also share three children: twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 3, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 2. He also shares a son, Legendary Love, 2, with Bre Tiesi, and a daughter, Onyx Ice Cole, 2, with La Nisha Cole. Cannon and Scott share two children: son Zen, who died at five months old after a brain cancer diagnosis, and daughter Halo Marie, 2.
