Dad refuses to post bail for rapist son
A FATHER refused to bail his 16-year-old son after he was charged in the Magistrate's Courts in Batu Pahat, Johor, with raping his 15-year-old girlfriend, Berita Harian reported.
The man, in his 40s, refused to post the RM1,500 bail after his son pleaded guilty in court because he wanted to teach the boy a lesson.
The teenager, who works as a helper at a food stall, pleaded guilty to having sexual intercourse with the underage girl at a house between 4pm and 5pm on June 2.
It was reported that his 41-year-old mother had returned home early from work and found the girl's slippers outside the house.
Following police investigations, the boy and the girl admitted to having had sex 16 to 18 times.
The case was fixed for mention on July 16.

Marine Police commander Senior Asst Comm Shamsol Kassim said that those caught often pleaded ignorance regarding their involvement in drug smuggling, as the contraband is disguised as everyday food items.
He said from 2020 until April this year, marine police recorded 1,860 cases and 2,225 arrests involving suspects aged between the 20s and 50s.
The seizure of drugs totalled RM150.8mil during the same period.
