Allen's surprises shoppers with major announcement: 'OMG I need it'

Australian confectionery brand Allen's has surprised fans by releasing a new treat. Shoppers can now get their hands on the Allen's 'Ripperz Remix' - a new twist that blends the iconic Red Ripperz with apple and grape flavours The new lollies have hit shelves at all major supermarkets for $5. Many have expressed their excitement over the new treats, with one saying: 'OMG I need to hunt these down.' 'Wow! Very keen to try,' another shared. Nestlé Head of Marketing Confectionery Shannon Wright said: 'Allen's cult classics are cherished by Aussies, so we're bringing a fresh, flavourful and chewy 'remix' to our beloved Ripperz. 'We think Aussies are going to love this fresh new take with its delicious apple and grape flavours.' Comedian Matt Hey shared his approval of the new flavour combo, saying: 'These new flavours are serving remix realness, and I'm here for it. 'I've always loved the classic raspberry flavour - especially that chewy, juicy goodness - so I can't wait for Aussies to get their hands on juicy Apple and intense Grape.' About 31 per cent of Allen's fans prefer chewy lollies, making the latest product the perfect way to satisfy those wanting a long-lasting chew. Earlier this year Allen's decided to change the most controversial confection in its iconic Snakes Alive mix, which sent shockwaves through the lolly-loving community. Sweet-toothed Aussies have spent years turning their nose up at the orange snake, which is widely regarded as the least popular flavour in the bag. But the biggest scandal came when comedian and self-proclaimed lolly aficionado Tanya Hennessey exposed a shocking truth - the orange snake wasn't even orange-flavoured at all, it was apricot. After wide-spread outrage, Allen's has finally revealed the new flavour: passionfruit. It will join the roster of strawberry, blackberry, lemon, and pineapple flavours.
