Sharjah crowned champions of UAE Taekwondo Cup
Recognition and individual awards Sharjah Club also received the Excellence Award from the UAE Taekwondo Federation in recognition of its role in hosting international training camps and organising championships. The club was further honoured with the Outstanding Partner Award. In individual honours, Sharjah received the award for Best Coach of the Season, and its athletes were recognised as Best Player in the men's, youth, and junior categories. With this result, the 'Kings of Taekwondo' added their 10th title of the season and claimed the overall championship trophy in the men's category. Official statement from the club Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Sports, said: "We congratulate the taekwondo team on this achievement, which reflects the efforts of the technical and administrative staff. I also commend the outstanding performance of our athletes who lived up to expectations and represented the club in the best way throughout the season." He added: "Individual sports at Sharjah Club follow a strategy of continuity and generational transition. This long-term approach has yielded remarkable results across all disciplines over the years. We will continue this path to safeguard our successes and achieve new milestones in future seasons." Al Hajri also stressed that the consistent support and attention from the Sharjah Sports Council have played a major role in the success of individual sports across the emirate, especially at Sharjah Club. He acknowledged the unwavering backing of the club's Board of Directors, which has stood by the teams in every competition. Looking ahead to the next season Al Hajri concluded by noting that preparations for the new season are already underway, with plans to meet all team needs to ensure they are fully equipped to compete at the highest level. Sharjah Club wins Karate Cup and Excellence Shield
A historic season of dominance The club enjoyed a remarkable season, winning 15 cups and claiming first place in seven tournaments. They were also awarded the General League Shield three times, along with multiple excellence shields, including the Kata and Kumite Shield, the Men's General Excellence Shield, and the Technical and Administrative Excellence Shield. Sharjah Club set a new record by scoring 1,007 points, becoming the first club in UAE karate history to reach this milestone. Leadership and recognition Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, awarded the General Shield in a ceremony attended by Khalid Issa Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club, and Engineer Sulaiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Head of Individual Games. Khalid Al Midfa praised the continuous achievements of the club's karate team, stating the Board of Directors' commitment to supporting all sports at the club and maintaining the legacy established by previous leadership. Strategic planning and player development Engineer Al Hajri highlighted that the victory reflects years of strategic planning, saying the Individual Games Department has been implementing development plans for over five years. These efforts aim to nurture talent and supply the UAE national teams with top-performing athletes. He emphasised the role of the Sharjah Sports Council, its vision for elevating individual sports, and the unwavering support from the club's leadership, which has been key to the consistent excellence demonstrated by Sharjah's karate champions. Celebrating excellence The ceremony was attended by officials from the UAE Karate Federation, including Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Competitions Committee; Mohammed Al Shehhi, Financial Director; Mohammed Abbas, Executive Director; and Hisham Serry, Technical Director, who celebrated the crowning of Sharjah's 'Karate Kings' at the season's conclusion.

Sharjah juniors clinch UAE Handball Cup title once again
Shabab Al Ahli finish runners-up Nasser Salem Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the UAE Handball Federation, presented Sharjah with the championship trophy and gold medals, while Shabab Al Ahli received the silver medals for securing second place in the competition. A double triumph for the junior team With this cup win, Sharjah's junior team has now achieved the prestigious double title this season, having previously secured the junior league championship. Their performance throughout the year has solidified their status as one of the strongest teams in the youth circuit. Youth teams shine across all categories Sharjah Club's success extends beyond the junior level. The club also claimed the league shield in all youth divisions, including youth, cadets, and juniors, underlining the depth and quality of their development system. Additionally, the youth team bagged both the Super Cup and the Cup titles, further adding to the club's impressive trophy haul this season. Cadets prepare for final showdown Sharjah's cadet team is now preparing for their own moment of glory, as they gear up to face Khorfakkan in the UAE Cup final on Sunday. The upcoming match presents another opportunity for the club to expand its silverware collection and close the season on a high note.

8th Sharjah International Chess Masters features 350 players
Global participation The event features 350 players from 60 countries, showcasing strong international representation and competitive diversity. Leading competitors Among the top contenders are International Master Salem Abdulrahman of Sharjah Club and the UAE national team, Arab Women's Champion Rawda Al Sirkal of Abu Dhabi Club, and local stars Omar Noman, Imran Al Hosani, and Ibrahim Sultan. International arbitration panel A panel of 15 international arbiters will oversee the competition. FIDE official Faisal Al Hammadi serves as head arbiter, with Salman Al Taher as deputy. Separate teams will manage the second and third tournaments to ensure smooth and professional operation throughout the event.

Sharjah Club capable of winning AFC Champions League 2

He highlighted that Sharjah Club's organized approach and the skills of their players boost their chances of bringing home the championship trophy from Singapore. He also praised Shabab Al Ahli for their impressive performance this season, noting that their success is a sign of progress in Emirati football. The Sharjah team has already left for Singapore to prepare for the final match, which will take place at Bishan Stadium. This marks the second time in a row that an Emirati team has made it to the final of this prestigious tournament. In the last edition, Al Ain Club took home the title. Al Hajri mentioned that Emirati sports are achieving significant milestones, thanks to the collaboration between public and private organizations. He acknowledged the recent successes, especially in university sports, which have laid a strong foundation for developing talent that will benefit future competitions.
