Salem Al Qasimi attends SEA's graduation ceremony
Sheikh Salem Bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office, attended the third graduation ceremony of the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) on Sunday. The event took place at the University City Hall in Sharjah. Following the rendition of the UAE national anthem, Dr Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Academy, delivered a speech in which she expressed deep gratitude to His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continued support of the Academy since its establishment. Dr Al Hashimi thanked Sheikh Salem for honouring the graduates. She congratulated the graduates and their families, wishing them success. She praised Sharjah's impressive achievements in education, noting the ongoing support from the Ruler of Sharjah, and emphasised that this graduating class is part of a bigger vision for excellence in education. The Academy graduated 313 individuals from different academic programmes, including teachers, school leaders, and early childhood specialists. This included 145 graduates from the third group of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, 74 from the second group of the Master of Education in Educational Leadership, 28 from the first group of the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership, and 66 from the second group of the Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Among them, 28 graduates participated in the 'I Am Proud to Be a Teacher' programme. Dr Al Hashimi ended her speech with a warm message to the graduates, highlighting their role as ambassadors of excellence and supporters of meaningful education. She encouraged them to promote Sharjah's vision for quality education with dedication, passion, and a commitment to lifelong learning. She urged them to take on their responsibilities as decision-makers and innovators, helping to shape the future of education in line with Sharjah's forward-thinking approach. For her part, Pauline Taylor-Guy, Chancellor of Sharjah Education Academy, delivered a speech in which she congratulated the graduates, highlighting the Academy's role in preparing educators. She said, 'Today, we celebrate a group of passionate educators and leaders who have demonstrated great determination, dedication, and resilience throughout their academic journey. Your graduation marks not just the end of a study programme, but the beginning of a new chapter in your professional lives. You are changemakers, inspiring role models, and the future of education. You have chosen a noble path that requires a clear vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment.' Teacher's oath and closing ceremony At the conclusion of the graduation ceremony, the graduates recited the Teacher's Oath: "I swear by Almighty God to observe God in the teaching profession, to protect my students in all circumstances, to do my utmost in their education, to instill a love of the homeland in their hearts, and to be sincere in the teaching profession, and God is my witness." Sharjah unveils UAE's first comprehensive guide on learning disabilities and ADHD
In a landmark initiative reinforcing Sharjah's commitment to inclusive education, the Sharjah Center for Learning Disabilities has unveiled the UAE's first comprehensive guide addressing learning disabilities and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Titled "Integrated Services for Learning Disabilities and ADHD: Standards and Procedures," the pioneering publication was launched during a ceremony today at the Sharjah Education Academy in the presence of senior officials and education experts. A National Reference Framework The integrated guide for learning disabilities and ADHD represents years of dedicated effort and serves as the UAE's first standardised reference unifying concepts and practices for learning disabilities and ADHD. The guide is an essential tool and resource for all teachers, psychologists, parents, and healthcare/education professionals. The guide is a science-based roadmap covering early challenge identification, diagnostic procedures, personalised intervention plans, effective educational models, behaviour modification techniques and offers both classroom and home support strategies. Key Features The guide draws from extensive global research reviews and offers practical focus with the help of real case studies and adaptable education plans. The book helps with local adaptation tailoring international best practices to UAE contexts. Speaking on the occasion, HE Sheikha Jamila bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, emphasised: "This first-of-its-kind guide embodies Sharjah's vision to empower individuals with learning challenges through innovative solutions. It represents a qualitative leap in creating equal opportunities for growth and community participation." Dr. Hanadi Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Center for Learning Disabilities, noted: "This isn't just an informational project—it's a vital response to real educational needs. The guide bridges the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, offering simplified yet professional guidance." Key recommendations unveiled at the 4th Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education
Sharjah: Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) announced the key recommendations reached during the fourth edition of the Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education, which was organized in collaboration with the Sharjah Private Education Authority and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The summit witnessed an outstanding attendance of over 2,500 in-person participants and more than 4,500 online participants, bringing together educators, decision-makers, researchers, and technology experts from around the globe, as well as, for the first time, parents who joined forces to help shape a comprehensive, future-ready educational system for Sharjah and beyond. The summit encompassed four tracks focusing on vital aspects of education. In Track 1, "Envisioning the Future of Education," participants explored the role of artificial intelligence, the importance of strong leadership, and the impact of data-driven decision-making in reimagining digital learning. The discussions yielded key recommendations to enhance educational strategies: utilizing data-driven decision-making, action research, and improvement science; investing in adaptive digital learning tools to foster personalized and inclusive education; and strengthening professional development to equip educators with future-ready skills. In the 2nd Track, "Equity and Inclusion in Schools," participants engaged in discussions to dismantle barriers to ensure full student participation, focusing on early childhood education and inclusive leadership. Key recommendations included enhancing early childhood education through specialized training in inclusive and developmentally appropriate strategies, expanding teacher training in inclusive pedagogies and differentiated instruction, and developing policies that promote equitable learning environments. In Track 3, "Future-Proof and Sustainable Education," emphasis was placed on establishing an adaptable and flexible education system through discussions on vocational and technical education, practical learning, and industry partnerships. The sessions focused on offering innovative solutions and ideas to address societal challenges by leveraging youth and students' diverse capabilities and visions. Key recommendations include strengthening practical education through apprenticeships and hands-on experiences, fostering industry-education partnerships to ensure curriculum relevance, and equipping teachers with crisis management and resilience training. In Track 4, "Innovative Teaching and Learning Practices," the transformative potential of experiential and inquiry-based learning was highlighted. This was supported by digital tools for differentiated instruction and strengthened connections between schools and higher education institutions. Discussions led to key recommendations, including emphasizing both in-class and out-of-class skill development to prepare students for a changing world, integrating sustainability, the Arabic language, and UAE heritage into curricula, and advancing professional development through research-based methodologies. These recommendations aim to provide a clear roadmap for transformative progress in education. They strive to ensure that educational systems become more inclusive, innovative, and future-ready through the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, enhanced professional development, and the promotion of collaborative partnerships between the public and private sectors. The summit underscored the urgent need to build a comprehensive, adaptable, and future-ready education system. The recommendations, which focus on integrating AI, strengthening robust professional development, implementing inclusive policies, and creating educational pathways linked to the labor market, offer a clear roadmap for transformative progress. Strategic partnerships are a fundamental component of the success of the Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education. Numerous collaborations have been established with leading institutions from various sectors to support the educational process and develop educational cadres. For this edition, the number of partnerships reached 28, including distinguished institutions such as Kalba University, the Emirates Research and Studies Center, Diglossia, Edulink+, ABT, Miqyas Al Dhad, Renaissance GL Assessment, the British Council, Victoria International School in Sharjah, Al Futtaim for Education, iSchool, Project You, and others. Under this agreement, 187 educational scholarships will be provided with the support of Invest Bank for participants enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Certification Program at the academy.
