SDHR to promote government employees spent 4 years in grade
Enhancing the work environment The initiative aims to improve the overall working atmosphere in the Sharjah Government and to motivate Emirati talent to continue excelling in their roles and contributions. Decree implementation and scope In a statement to Sharjah 24 , Al Zaabi explained that the decree will be implemented from the date of issuance in April. It applies to all government employees across the emirate and includes a newly introduced 'special' grade dedicated to engineers, recognising their vital role in Sharjah's development projects. Faster promotions with reduced time in grade A major amendment in the decree is the reduction of the minimum time required to remain in a job grade from six years to four. Previous service will be accounted for, with time in the current grade calculated from the last promotion date. This paves the way for quicker career advancement based on clear and structured criteria. Encouragement and continued commitment Al Zaabi urged government employees to remain dedicated, continue serving the emirate diligently, and strive for excellence. He noted that the decree reflects His Highness's ongoing support for developing human resources and nurturing a thriving government work environment.
