Very moving moment: Shashi Tharoor as he pays tributes at 9/11 memorial in US

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and his delegates paid their tributes to the victims at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum following their arrival in the US as part of their outreach to brief selected countries on Operation Sindoor and India's fight against terrorism. Tharoor, who is leading the delegation, said it was a very "moving moment" on visiting the memorial and called for a global united fight against paid his respects at the memorial along with MP Ganti Harish Madhur, MP Shashank Mani Tripathi, MP Bhubaneswar Kalita, MP Milind Deora and former Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu. They were accompanied by India's Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, news agency ANI members paid tributes by offering white roses at the memorial and folding their hands in obeisance. According to its official website, the 9/11 Memorial is a tribute of remembrance, honouring the 2,977 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Centre site, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Centre bombing on February 26, memorial is located on eight acres of the 16-acre World Trade Centre complex. advertisementAfter visiting the memorial, Tharoor said, "It was obviously a very moving moment for us, but it was also meant to send a very strong message that we are here in a city which is still bearing the scars of that savage terrorist attack in the wake of yet another terrorist attack in our own country. We came both as a reminder that this is a shared problem, but also out of a spirit of solidarity with the victims, who included Indians. It is a global problem. We must fight it unitedly."He said the Pahalgam attackers should be brought to justice."We are not going to stop our hunt for those who committed this latest atrocity (Pahalgam terror attack). But, we need to think about where these people are based, where they have safe havens, where they are trained, equipped, financed and guided to perpetrate this horror," he former diplomat-turned-politician said it was a reminder of the solidarity that all people around the world feel in the face of terrorism. Six more delegations are headed to other countries in a similar the early hours of May 7, the Indian armed forces targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor, killing 100 terrorists. New York City [US], May 25 (ANI): Members of the all-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor paid their respects at the 9/11 memorial after their arrival in the US on Saturday (US local time). Congress MP Shashi Tharoor paid his respects at the memorial along with MP Ganti Harish Madhur, MP Shashank Mani Tripathi, MP Bhubaneswar Kalita, MP Milind Deora and former Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu. They were accompanied by India's Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra. The members paid tributes by offering white roses at the Memorial and folding their hands in obeisance. The all-party delegation will project India's national consensus and firm stance on combating terrorism in all its forms. They will carry India's strong message of zero tolerance against terrorism to the global community during their outreach. A total of 7 groups consisting of 8-9 members from various political parties have been selected by India to represent its stance of zero tolerance against terror and brief the representatives of other countries on Operation Sindoor. Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. After the operation, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as attempted drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan. On May 10, an understanding of the cessation of hostilities between the countries was announced. (ANI)

New York City [US], May 25 (ANI): Members of the all-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor arrived in the US on Saturday (US local time). 1 2 3 4 Aizawl: Lalrinpuii , a resident of the Saikhamakawn neighbourhood on the southern outskirts of Aizawl city, was awarded the prestigious Aspee LM Patel Farmer of the Year Award 2022 in the Woman Farmer Category — An Enterprising Woman Farmer in Vegetable Cultivation from the North East Region, state horticulture department officials said on Monday. The officials said the award was handed over to Lalrinpuii in Mumbai on Friday by Lok Sabha member Shashank Mani Tripathi at an event where she was accompanied by a horticulture official. Lalrinpuii began off-season tomato farming since 2018 after being imparted training by experts of the state horticulture department and has since become a successful farmer by bagging awards such as Best State Farmer Award 2020-21, Best Horticulture Farmer Award (Aizawl district) 2022 and the District Millionaire Farmer of India Award 2023. The Aspee Agricultural Research and Development Foundation, Mumbai, sent a team of experts to conduct her expertise and success four times before selecting her for the award. The foundation, which institutes the annual award every year, has given this award for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. Awards in different categories have been given to farmers in Karanataka, Gujarat, Mizoram and Assam, the officials said.
