Sheepshearing festival in Waltham Since 1987, the Sheepshearing Festival at Gore Place has been a springtime staple. The event features live music, more than 100 crafters, special demonstrations featuring shearing techniques and herding dogs, plus historic reenactors across 50 acres of farmland. Don't miss it Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 and kids under 12 are free. With nearly 200 fairy and gnome homes scattered through a one-mile wooded path, it's every child's dream! There are free crafts and activities and an art stroll featuring artists from all over New England showcasing their work.
