Alabaster City Council revokes spas' business licenses
ALABASTER, Ala. (WIAT) — The Alabaster City Council voted to revoke the business licenses of Grace Spa and TRU Acupressure Clinic on Monday.
The decision followed a public hearing in which the commander of the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force, Lt. Clayton Smith, spoke to the council. He presented evidence that he claimed shows the businesses are linked to prostitution.

'We had a confidential informant who entered that establishment and during his massage, he was propositioned for sexual services, and we have those on audio and video as evidence,' Smith said. 'So there's no way they can test that those things aren't happening.'
Smith said the task force's main goal is to make sure no one is being trafficked.
