Mohali students ace in CBSE Class X
Harshveer Singh, a student of Shemrock Senior Secondary School and a resident of Kharar, topped Mohali district with 99.6 per cent marks in Class X, the results for which were declared by the CBSE on Tuesday.
Harshveer, who scored 100 marks each in maths, Punjabi and IT and 99 marks each in science and English, gives credit to his success to consistency and his teachers' guidance. 'Listen to your teachers carefully and revise daily,' he advises.
Son of businessman Zorawer Singh and teacher Jagjeet Kaur, Harshveer also finds joy in playing chess and solving mathematics. He aspires to become an engineer.
Armeet Kaur of Lawrence School stood second in the district with 99.4 per cent marks.
Armeet attributed her success to her parents, teachers and especially her grandmother, with whose help she scored 100 out of 100 marks in Punjabi. Armeet also aspires to become an engineer.
Saket Garg of Manav Mangal Smart School, Mohali, scored 99.2 per cent.
A resident of SBP Homes, Sector 126, Kharar, Saket aims to pursue Computer Science Engineering at IIT, Bombay. He is the son of Bhushan Kumar, a senior manager at Airtel, and Anju Bala, a government school teacher. His elder sister is studying engineering at PEC, Chandigarh.
Saket's success mantra is 'regular focused studies and staying refreshed through cricket and music'.
He dedicated 4-5 hours daily understanding concepts and not just memorising.
