Posting orders for TRE-3.0 qualified teachers to be issued soon, says govt

Patna: In a bid to address the concerns of candidates who qualified in the third phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-3.0) and protested in the state capital on Friday demanding immediate appointment, additional chief secretary (ACS) of the education department, S Siddharth, announced on Saturday that their posting orders would be issued within a week, allowing them to join their allotted schools. Appointment letters for the successful candidates of TRE-3.0, conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission, were distributed on March 9 with CM Nitish Kumar personally handing over letters to some of the selected teachers at a ceremony at Gandhi Maidan. "We have finalised everything and posting orders for TRE-3.0 successful candidates will be issued by coming Friday or Saturday. The teachers will have to join their respective schools from May 5," Siddharth said at the weekly programme 'Shiksha Ki Baat, Har Shanivar'. He added that careful consideration had been given during the finalisation of postings, ensuring that schools facing acute teacher shortages would receive the maximum number of educators to improve the teacher-student ratio across the state. Addressing another issue, Siddharth said schools operating from the same campus should be merged and their educational activities will be integrated to create a more convenient and congenial academic environment. He added that all district education officers had already been instructed to take the necessary steps in this regard. In response to a question regarding the lack of formal guidelines on the 'Bagless Saturday' scheme, which came into effect in Nov 2022, Siddharth said the guidebook was currently being updated. A revised period-wise curriculum, incorporating new activities such as skill training, sports and other extracurricular pursuits, would be uploaded to the department's website within the next 10 to 15 days. He said all teachers selected through BPSC would be entitled to medical and maternity leave, similar to their other counterparts. Siddharth announced that funding for infrastructure requirements in govt schools, including boundaries, toilets, classrooms, laboratories, libraries and furniture, would be sanctioned by the first week of May. "Completion of related works will be ensured by July-Aug," he said.
