Canon EMEA appoints Shinichi ‘Sam' Yoshida as new President and CEO
He will assume his new responsibilities as President and CEO of Canon EMEA from March 1, 2025. Canon EMEA has announced the appointment of Shinichi 'Sam' Yoshida as its new President and CEO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective March 1, 2025. He will succeed Yuichi Ishizuka, who is retiring after a 44-year career with Canon, including seven years leading the EMEA region. Prior to this role, Yoshida was based in the United States, where he served as Executive Vice President & General Manager of the Marketing Strategy Unit, as well as Chairman and CEO of Canon Solutions America, Inc. and Canon Financial Services, Inc. In his new position, Yoshida will oversee Canon EMEA's vast regional sales organisation, which operates across 120 countries, employs around 12,300 people and contributes approximately a quarter of Canon's global revenue. His leadership will focus on strengthening the company's core business while leveraging Canon's expertise in imaging and printing technology to expand into emerging sectors such as B2B Imaging, Industrial and Commercial Printing, and Information Management Solutions. With a background in manufacturing, innovation and sustainability, Yoshida was part of the original team that helped establish Canon Virginia, Inc., a key manufacturing hub in the Americas. Speaking about the new role, Yoshida said: 'Canon is the market leader in imaging and print technologies with millions of customers throughout EMEA. this diverse and exciting region is full of opportunity and I am honoured to be leading the business through the next phase of innovation and growth.' Yuichi Ishizuka, the outgoing President and CEO of Canon EMEA, held several key leadership roles globally, including in Japan, the United States and Canada.
