Liverpool move CLOSER to €100m Hugo Ekitike deal
Liverpool appear to have taken a step closer towards a deal for Hugo Ekitike. It won't be a cheap one, however. Liverpool are reportedly in the race for Hugo Ekitike. Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg is certainly suggesting that - he claims it's something of a two horse race right now. They're pushing the hardest with concrete talks over him with Eintracht Frankfurt. Liverpool are there, though, and the Blues know it. They've apparently been hoping to wrap things up quickly before the Reds can swing Ekitike's decision towards Anfield. Though, this won't be a cheap one for any team. Frankfurt hope to bag €100m for Ekitike, who they know is the most in-demand striker available right now. Alexander Isak is completely off the table after Newcastle United bagged UEFA Champions League qualification and the Frenchman is seen as a true alternative. Both Liverpool and Chelsea appear to agree. Liverpool move closer There's been a very interesting update in this race, however. It seems Chelsea are actually going to sign Liam Delap, who's available on the cheap after Ipswich Town were relegated. Advertisement But reports last month suggested Delap didn't want to head to a club with an established, elite no.9. He's not after a pure bench role where minutes are hard to come by. We find it very hard to believe, then, that he's agreed to join Chelsea unless he's received guarantees. That would mean no Ekitike, who would unquestionably want to be their regular starting striker.

Fabrizio Romano confirms star will ACCEPT Liverpool offer
Liverpool are in position to make a major signing. Fabrizio Romano shared the latest in one transfer pursuit. Liverpool are on the brink of signing Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. The Dutchman has reportedly passed a medical with the Reds and will become their first summer signing. Liverpool have grand plans for 2025, with sporting director Richard Hughes leading something of an overhaul. The defence, midfield and attack could all change as Liverpool aim to capitalise on winning the Premier League title. Anfield is the place to be right now - time to show that off. Florian Wirtz is one of those linked strongly with a move to the Reds. Though, it's unclear whether that will be the German Reds or the English Reds. Wirtz will almost certainly move to either Bayern or Liverpool if he chooses to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer. There will be an almighty push from both giants to get his signature. Advertisement But he's not even the only one Liverpool hope to sign. They're pushing for a £200m outlay before the window has even opened. Liverpool push for Milos Kerkez Liverpool want to upgrade at left-back, preferably with a long-term successor to Andy Robertson. Milos Kerkez is at the top of their shortlist and according to Fabrizio Romano, the player has told them 'yes'. 'Liverpool are advancing, but careful until the end, because there are other clubs looking for left-backs in the market, and so we have to see what happens there,' Romano told the Market Madness podcast. 'What they can guarantee is that Kerkez would be very happy to join Liverpool. The message from the player's camp to the club has already arrived. They are discussing personal terms."

'We let him go...' £80m star is now free to JOIN Liverpool
'We let him go...' £80m star is now free to JOIN Liverpool Liverpool are edging closer to completing their first deal of the summer, but another could be on the way soon. It's going to be a busy period for Richard Hughes as the club's sporting director looks to establish his presence on the team and build a side tailor made for Arne Slot. A former Manchester City academy graduate, Frimpong has established himself as one of the best full-backs in European football and he will be an astute replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold. He's also homegrown and still relatively young arriving at the peak of his powers. Of course, Frimpong will not be alone, he's just the first one in through the door. One of Slot's priorities is to add extra pace and more dynamism to his squad. As Anfield Watch revealed exclusively, the club have held talks with Milos Kerkez back in November and he could be another new signing with the Reds definitely prioritising a move for a left-back. Advertisement Another priority is in attack as Liverpool look to replace Darwin Nunez, where a key target has just become available. Why Hugo Ekitike is now free to join Liverpool Anfield Watch exclusively revealed that Liverpool held talks with the representatives of Hugo Ekitike earlier this year. The Frenchman is considered to be one of the club's top targets for the no.9 position. Ekitike's tactical versatility, speed and excellent technical prowess make him one of the most complete young forwards in European football. Anfield Watch understands he would be available for around £80m and that Liverpool are seriously considering him even at that price range. Advertisement Ekitike finished the season with 34 goal contributions for Frankfurt in all competitions and scored a hat-trick against England's U21 side at international level. There are few forwards who are as exciting as him and who would suit Slot's style of football better. Now, the question is with Eintracht Frankfurt securing Champions League football, would they be willing to let him go? Speaking after the club's final game of the season as per Sky Sports Germany, Frankfurt's sporting director, Markus Krosche revealed that the club would be open to selling Ekitike and that they won't stand in his way. "He's one of the most interesting strikers on the European market. Hugo has to decide that. I'm glad we have him. If he decides otherwise, that's our credo: If a player develops faster than us, we let him go," Krosche said. This is eerily similar to what Krosche had said about Omar Marmoush before he made the switch to Manchester City. It confirms that Ekitike is free to leave the German side this summer and join Liverpool.
