Karnataka students secure 55 out of 100 ranks in COMEDK
BENGALURU:The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has declared the results of the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2025, with Karnataka students securing 55 out of the top 100 ranks this year. Shishir H Shetty from Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada, secured the top rank, followed by Malik Jain from Punjab and Varun J Kumar from Karnataka in second and third positions, respectively. Four candidates from Karnataka are among the top 10, alongside students from other states. Around 3,330 students from Karnataka figured in the 90–100 percentile range, out of a total of 11,412. Of the 1,31,937 applicants, over 1.13 lakh candidates appeared for the entrance test, which was conducted in two phases on May 10 and May 25 across 179 cities nationwide. This year, due to tensions between India and Pakistan and amid Operation Sindoor, COMEDK rescheduled the exam at 24 centres. The final answer key was released on June 4, after the consortium reviewed 69 objections raised against the provisional key published on May 28.

COMEDK UGET 2025 Result: The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has officially declared the result for the COMEDK Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (UGET) 2025. All the candidates who have appeared for the exam can check their result through the official website, i.e. Candidates will have to enter their application sequence number, their user ID and password to access their result, they won't be able to check their result without these details. The COMEDK UGET examination took place on 10th May, 2025 and at a few centres it was held on 25th May, 2025. The counselling registration and uploading of documents will start from 9th June, 4 Pm and it will end on 18th June, 2025 at 2 PM. And around 11,412 candidates have scored the percentile between 90th to 100th in the COMEDK UGET 2025 examination and around 11,446 candidates scored between the 80th to 90th percentile while around 11,723 candidates scored between 70th to 80th percentile this year. The COMEDK counselling schedule will be made available on the official website. Candidates who obtain a valid rank can begin the counselling registration process once the link is activated online. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka publishes the cut-off ranks for each participating college after every counselling round. These cut-offs are presented as opening and closing ranks, which determine seat allotment for students. The announcement marks a major step for over 1.13 lakh candidates who participated in this year's entrance test, vying for engineering seats across COMEDK-affiliated institutions. Online counselling for seat allotment will commence on June 9, 2025, and will follow a fully digital process. The last date to register and upload documents is June 18, 2025. Over one lakh candidates appeared for the entrance exam The COMEDK UGET 2025 was held in two phases, on May 10 and May 25, across 248 centres in 179 cities throughout India. Of the 1,31,937 registered applicants, 1,13,111 took the test. Among these, 37,715 were from Karnataka while 75,396 came from other states. Due to disruptions caused by 'Operation Sindoor', the exam had to be rescheduled at 24 centres—13 centres missed all three sessions, while the third session was cancelled in 11 others. The rescheduled exam was conducted smoothly on May 25. To ensure fairness, the test scores were standardised using percentile rankings, given the examination was held in multiple sessions. Provisional answer keys were made available on May 28, with 69 objections submitted and reviewed by an expert panel. The final answer keys were released on June 4, 2025. Karnataka students dominate top ranks Karnataka has emerged strongly in the 2025 results, with 4 of the top 10 rank holders belonging to the state.
