1 2 3 Patna: Passengers at Lakhisarai railway station , which is being developed under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), are facing severe hardships due to lack of overhead sheds at platforms 2 and 3, exposing them to the scorching summer sun. The situation has become increasingly dire as temperature soared across commuters and long-distance passengers alike have voiced their frustration over the absence of the basic amenities. Bihar Daily Passengers' Association president Birendra Prasad Sharma said they had taken up the matter with the authorities of the Danapur division falling under the East Central Railway. In a formal appeal, the association has urged officials to urgently install sheds on platforms 2 and 3. "Without sheds, waiting for trains has become unbearable. Elderly passengers and women with children are the most affected," said the association's general secretary Shoaib Qurashi. According to Danapur senior divisional commercial manager Abhinav Siddarth, the railways is developing Lakhisarai station under ABSS with all modern facilities for the passengers.
