OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Two Okaloosa County School District teachers and a student have been named recipients of the 2025 National 180 Awards. Milton makes history swearing in first female police chief Pryor Middle School teacher Donna Born and Shoal River Middle School teacher Tracy Lott received the 180 Educator Award for 'their unwavering commitment to student success, mentorship, and helping students achieve significant academic milestones,' according to an OCSD news release. Shoal River Middle School student John Matthew Gumayao received the 180 Student Award for his progress in literacy. According to OCSD, the National 180 Awards are given to teachers and students around the country who have made major progress in reading and math through HMH Read 180 and HMH Math 180 programs. HMH is a learning technology company.
