Sabrina Carpenter Returns To No. 1 As Her Next Era Is About To Begin
The next era of Sabrina Carpenter's reign as one of the biggest pop stars in the world is about to kick off. The singer recently announced a new single titled "Man Child," which is slated to drop on Thursday, June 5. As the singer-songwriter heads into another chapter, the album that turned her into a pop powerhouse, Short N' Sweet, is in charge yet again. Carpenter returns to the No. 1 spot on the Official Albums chart in the United Kingdom with her full-length Short N' Sweet. The title steps up from second place to become the most consumed collection in the country. That's quite the accomplishment for a project that reaches a milestone 40 frames on the roster as it regains control of the throne. Short N' Sweet has now led the charge in the U.K. for five nonconsecutive frames. Interestingly, none of those have been in a row. The title debuted at No. 1 in early September 2024 and last ruled in March of this year. Throughout its lifetime, Carpenter's breakout project has never fallen outside of the top five. In fact, the lowest it's ever declined is No. 5 — a position it reached in February, but only for one stint. Short N' Sweet manages to succeed despite declining on most of the consumption-based rosters that help dictate where a title lands on the Official Albums chart. The set drops to No. 20 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums rankings and holds in last place at No. 100 on the Official Album Downloads list. It does, however, rule the Official Albums Streaming roster, as it seems that plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music are largely keeping Carpenter's full-length going. This week, Carpenter fends off competition from legendary pop-rock band Sparks. The American group almost scores its first No. 1 with its twenty-eighth full-length Mad!, which instead settles for second place. That's still a new high point for the outfit. Last week's champion, I'm the Problem by Morgan Wallen, drops from No. 1 to No. 10. Short N' Sweet is being kept afloat largely by the continued success of a number of huge hits featured on its tracklist. Carpenter scores six big songs on the U.K. charts this week, five of which come from her Grammy-winning project. "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" are the top performers, while "Taste," "Busy Woman," and "Bed Chem" follow behind.

Sabrina Carpenter Summer? Singer Announces New Single ‘Manchild' Ahead of Primavera Sound Set
'Goddamn, man child,' Lana Del Rang once sang on the opening track of Norman Fucking Rockwell! Now, it looks like Sabrina Carpenter is ready to join her in calling out yet another 'Manchild' of her own. Roughly nine months after the two-time Grammy Award winner released her chart-topping sixth studio album Short N' Sweet, Carpenter is back for more. She announced her latest single, 'Manchild,' on Tuesday, after teasing new music online a day earlier with a short clip of herself standing on the side of the desert attempting to hitchhike. 'Manchild' is out this Thursday 6/5,' Carpenter wrote under a photo of herself with her signature golden curls, holding her thumb out in true hitchhiker-style. After 'Espresso' became the unofficial song of the summer last year — garnering 1.6 billion streams en route to becoming the most-streamed song of 2024 on Spotify — Carpenter's return with new music has fans hoping she can produce another summer smash as the song of the summer race is still wide open. In alignment with her release of 'Espresso' ahead of Coachella last year, fans are already suspecting 'Manchild' will make its live debut at Carpenter's headlining set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona this Friday. At this point, it's unclear if the new track will be a part of a brand new album, or solely serve as a single. Carpenter released the deluxe edition of Short N' Sweet on Valentine's Day earlier this year after she won her first two Grammys. There, she shared a new version of 'Please Please Please' with Dolly Parton, and she also delivered five new tracks, including the single 'Busy Woman.' Sabrina Carpenter's Breakout Smash Is Still Miles Ahead Of All Her Other Hits
Since she first dropped "Espresso" in April 2024, Sabrina Carpenter has scored several additional hit songs in the United States. Her album Short N' Sweet produced multiple smashes, and the recently-released deluxe edition spawned new wins as well. Her entire catalog continues to perform well, but the focus remains on "Espresso," which transformed her from a rising talent into a certified superstar. The cut continues to extend its dominance as her biggest career win this week, and none of her other big wins can compare. Carpenter fills three spaces on the Hot 100 this week. "Espresso" is her top-performing title on Billboard's ranking of the most consumed songs in America — a feat that is made especially impressive considering the fact that it's also her longest-charting hit by months. This frame, "Espresso" holds steady at No. 19 on the Hot 100. It previously peaked at No. 3 — a fact that may surprise some, as many likely assumed it went all the way to No. 1, based on how popular it became. Both "Taste" and "Busy Woman" slide from where they landed last time around. The former remains inside the top 40, dipping from No. 30 to No. 38, while the latter — the focus track from the deluxe edition of Short N' Sweet — drops two spots to No. 86. The fact that "Espresso" continues to outperform newer tunes after so much time underscores its incredible popularity. With 56 weeks on the Hot 100, it has spent more time on the competitive list than both "Taste" and "Busy Woman" – her only other two hits at the moment – combined, and yet it still leads the pack by a wide margin. "Espresso" is Carpenter's only cut to spend a full year on the Hot 100. Several other smashes, such as "Please Please Please," "Taste," "Feather," and "Bed Chem,' have racked up months on the roster, which blends sales, streaming activity, and airplay. Still, "Espresso" is months ahead of all of them. While it's still doing well, its time could soon be up. According to Billboard's rules, after a full year, a track must remain above No. 25 to avoid removal. Carpenter's tune is currently just a few spaces ahead of that cutoff.

Sabrina Carpenter attends Met Gala 2025 sans pants: See 'Short n' Sweet' look
Sabrina Carpenter attends Met Gala 2025 sans pants: See 'Short n' Sweet' look Sabrina Carpenter returned to the 2025 Met Gala fresh off two Grammy wins, a tour and a breakout album "Short N' Sweet." For her third appearance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the "Please Please Please" singer donned a stunning merlot pinstripe bodysuit, a cropped Louis Vuitton blazer − and no pants. She arrived at the blue carpet serving pin-up girl zhuzh with a wispy train. The look came together with the help of this year's Met Gala Co-Chair Pharrell Williams. "He was like 'you're quite short, so no pants for you.' So, here we are," Carpenter told LaLa Anthony during the May 5 fashion event. "Super high shoes, that's like a staple for me in my life," she added. "I'm just so grateful to be here and see all the incredible creations." Carpenter previously attended the 2024 fashion extravaganza with ex-partner Barry Keoghan, donning a velvet bodysuit attached with a billowing blue and white satin skirt below. The two were seen holding hands at the top of the stairs. However, after rumors of a split, the two attended separately this year. For the 2022 debut at the Met Gala, the singer donned a golden bra and matching flowing skirt. Other pop stars in attendance this year included Chappell Roan and Charli XCX, who, like Carpenter, received mass acclaim following their latest albums, which were all nominated for Grammys. Sabrina Carpenter Crashes Quinta Brunson's SNL Musical Monologue About Being Short, Tom Holland and Kendrick Lamar Get Shout Outs
'Abbott Elementary' star and creator Quinta Brunson is short and she isn't afraid to flaunt it. Hosting 'Saturday Night Live' for the second time on May 3, Brunson opted to deliver her opening monologue in musical form, breaking into song and singing about the many benefits and joys of being short. 'Shorties, tonight, this one's for us,' Brunson (flanked by dancers) said, shouting out perks like getting 'wasted on one glass of wine' and wearing crop tops as dresses. Brunson's next verse shouted out some of Hollywood's shortest, highest-achieving celebrities, including 4'8' Olympian Simone Biles, 5'7' actor Tom Holland and 5'5' 'Not Like Us' rapper Kendrick Lamar. Continuing to dance and sing her way through the monologue, Brunson was joined on stage by 'Short N' Sweet' songstress Sabrina Carpenter, who joked about their mutual experiences being short. 'When you eat short rib, does it just taste like rib? When you read short stories, are they just novels?' Though he didn't take part in the number, the musical guest for Brunson's second SNL episode is 'Beautiful Things' singer Benson Boone, who made headlines with his breakout performance at Coachella last weekend. In addition to appearing in the same 'SNL' episode, Boone and Carpenter were both nominated for Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammys, though the award ended up going to Chappell Roan.
