Shreveport Symphony to showcase Tony winner and actor Leslie Odom Jr.
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Actor and singer Leslie Odom Jr. will perform alongside the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. In December 2025, Odom will join the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra for his Christmas tour. Although the performance is still some time away, fans can prepare well in advance for the show. Beyonce adds this Louisiana native to Cowboy Carter tour setlist Leslie Odom Jr., an acclaimed actor and Tony Award-winning artist, is well-acquainted with the stage and the big screen. At 17, he made his Broadway debut in the original production of 'Rent' in 1998. In 2016, Odom won his first Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway musical 'Hamilton,' which he will return to later this year. He has also received several Grammy Awards and has been nominated for multiple Emmys and Academy Awards. Odom is just one win away from achieving EGOT status. In 2020, he portrayed the legendary singer Sam Cooke in the critically acclaimed Amazon film 'One Night in Miami.' Odom also starred in 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,' 'Harriet,' 'Murder on the Orient Express,' and 'The Exorcist: Believer.' He also made guest appearances on the hit show 'Abbott Elementary.' Experience an enchanted forest with ‘Fairy Houses & Gnome Homes' in Richard Fleming Park
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – People of all ages are invited to build their own enchanted forest dwelling at 'Fairy Houses & Gnome Homes' at Richard Fleming Park. 'Step into an enchanted world where fairies, gnomes, and magical creatures come to life!' the event stated. 'Join us at Richard Fleming Park for a whimsical day of nature, crafts, and storytelling at our Fairy Houses & Gnome Homes event! 'This family-friendly event invites children and adults alike to explore the magic of the forest, build their own fairy or gnome home, meet fantastical characters, and enjoy a variety of enchanting activities!' Join the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra for their 2025 Regency Ball On top of fairy and gnome home construction, the event will feature a Mad Hatter's Color-Changing Tea Party, a Fairytale Theater with live performances and roaming characters, and crafting stations to build crowns, wands, and pinecone and peg people. The event will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Richard Fleming Park, 7919 W. Lakeshore Dr. in Shreveport. The event is free, and costumes are encouraged.
