FIR against woman influencer for posting objectionable reel
Nagpur: City police on Saturday filed an FIR against a Pune-based woman law student and social media influencer for allegedly hurting
following a viral reel that sparked outrage among members of a community.

The controversy erupted after many social workers and residents came across the video on a social media platform where the influencer allegedly made objectionable comments. Offended by the content, community members filed a formal police complaint demanding action against the accused.
Tehsil police station inspector Shubhangi Deshmukh confirmed that the police have filed an FIR under sections related to hurting religious sentiments.
"We received a complaint about the reel, which allegedly contains derogatory remarks. The video URL was shared with the cyber cell for further analysis," she said.
She added that the matter is currently under digital investigation. "Once the cyber cell extracts all related information, we will take appropriate action based on the findings," Deshmukh said, noting that due to the influencer's private account settings, the process may take some time.
At this stage, officials have not released more details about the accused, including her identity or background. The police stated that they are in the early stages of inquiry and are coordinating with cyber experts to validate the content and identify whether it violates any legal provisions.
