Dial 112 constable injured while trying to stop clash in Patna
Patna: A constable of the Dial 112 team was attacked when the team went to resolve a clash over a domestic issue in a family on Exhibition Road under Gandhi Maidan police station area in Patna on Sunday.
The incident occurred when one Sibten Raja (25), mentally ill youth, clashed with his father and family members.
Youth's father, Mohd Shahzad Khan, contacted Dial 112 for assistance. When the police arrived to intervene into the matter, the youth became aggressive and attacked the police team, resulting in injuries to constable Sanjay Kumar Mandal. "The accused beat and threw me on the ground, also tore my uniform and broke spectacles when I tried to end their fight," Mandal said.
Dial 112 personnel soon flashed the message on the wireless, and police forces from Gandhi Maidan, Kotwali, and Kadamkuan police stations rushed to the spot. After a lot of searching, the accused was caught with the help of local people.
According to Mohd Shahzad Khan, his son Sibten was receiving treatment for mental health issues. He did not sleep properly for five days and was planning to visit Biharsharif Mazar.

"The situation escalated on Sunday morning when his car driver reached late, leading to the domestic altercation that prompted the father to contact the police," said Rajesh Kumar, SHO of Gandhi Maidan police station, adding that the injured youth and the constable were admitted to a hospital for treatment.
