Dakota Johnson, Chris Martin Part Ways After Dating For 8 Years: Report
Looks like there's trouble in 'paradise' for Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, yet again. The couple, who have been in an on-again, off-again relationship for the last eight years, finally have parted ways, reported People magazine. "It feels final this time," an insider told the publication. Representatives for neither Johnson (35) nor Martin (48) have commented on the alleged split. The report comes weeks after they were photographed together in Malibu on May 16. In January, Johnson and Martin made headlines when they arrived in Mumbai for Coldplay's two concerts as part of the Music of the Spheres World Tour. They were also spotted visiting local landmarks like the Siddhivinayak Temple, Shri Babulnath Temple and Marine Drive. After the concerts concluded, the two also went to the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. Several images of Martin and Johnson taking the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam went viral on social media at the time. The images are out. In a heartwarming moment, Martin was also seen folding his hands and praying. Johnson and Martin were first romantically linked back in 2017, when they were spotted enjoying a sushi date in Los Angeles. The couple has since been seen together at various public events. Last March, an insider told People magazine Johnson and Martin got engaged "years" ago after they sparked engagement rumours in 2020. They were, however, "in no rush to get married" at the time. Before dating Johnson, Martin was married to Oscar winning-actor Gwyneth Paltrow. They exchanged vows in 2003 and officially parted ways in 2015. They are parents to two children - a daughter, Apple Martin, and a son, Moses Martin. On the work front, Johnson will next be seen in Materialists, directed by Celine Song of Past Lives fame. In the upcoming romantic comedy, the actor essaye the role of a young matchmaker based in New York City, who unexpectedly finds herself torn between the charm of her seemingly perfect match (Pedro Pascal) and lingering feelings for an imperfect ex boyfriend (Chris Evans). Zoe Winters, Marin Ireland, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson, and Sawyer Spielberg also round out the cast of the film. Sony Pictures Entertainment India will release Materialists in Indian cinemas on June 13. Martin is currently busy with Music of the Spheres World Tour. The band is next scheduled to perform in Las Vegas on June 6 and 7.

Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Friday flagged off the 9.77 km Phase 2-A of Mumbai Metro 3 from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Acharya Atre Chowk. He claimed that this will transform commuting in Mumbai, saying, "Mumbai Metro Route 3, Phase 2-A : A new era of Seamless, World-Class Connectivity!" In his post on social media platform X, CM Fadnavis said, "Under Hon PM Narendra Modi's leadership, the metro network across India - particularly in Maharashtra - is expanding rapidly. Metro Line 3, the country's longest underground line, stands as an 'Engineering Marvel'. Launched in 2017, the project is nearing completion at remarkable speed. The final phase, from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade, is expected to open to the public this August, with an inauguration by PM Narendra Modi." He said the newly inaugurated route includes 26 stations, each with multiple entry points. Notably, Metro Line 3 will link directly to the airport, allowing passengers to travel seamlessly by metro. Construction on other lines is progressing rapidly, with 50 km of new routes set to be added this year and next. Soon, commuters across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) will be able to travel by metro, monorail, local train, and bus using a single integrated ticket. The highlights of Mumbai Metro Route 3, Phase 2-A comprise underground stations (6), headway -every 6 minutes 20 seconds, fares Rs 10-40 and trains in service 8. CM Fadnavis has listed a slew of features of the Mumbai Metro Route 3, Phase 2-A including fully air-conditioned trains and stations, reserved coaches for women passengers, advanced baggage scanning and passenger screening, well lit secure stations and platforms, 24x7 surveillance with CCTV and security staff, seamless mobile connectivity across trains and stations, accessible restrooms with baby diaper-changing facilities and multilingual passenger guidance system. Further, there will be LCD screens for infotainment and ads, dynamic digital route maps, full wheelchair access for PwDs (persons with disabilities), fire and smoke suppression systems in every coach and emergency communication systems between passengers and the control room. CM Fadnavis said that the Mumbai Metro Route 3, Phase 2-A will provide seamless connectivity to major business hubs like BKC and Worli and easy access to religious places like Siddhivinayak Temple, Mahim Dargah & Church. There will be direct metro access to popular entertainment hubs, including Shivaji Park, Yashwant Natya Mandir, Ravindra Natya Mandir, and Plaza Cinema "Mumbai's other metro lines have been well received by the public. This project marks another key step in making the city's transport faster, smarter, and more inclusive. There will be future integration of the BKC station with Metro Line 2B and the Bullet Train," he said.

Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase 2A to open for public from Saturday; full line expected to be operational by August
Mumbai's first fully underground Metro corridor, the Aqua Line (Line 3), is set to welcome commuters on its second operational stretch, Phase 2A, which connects the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Worli at Acharya Atre Chowk through a 9.77 km route, from Saturday. The final stretch, from Worli to Cuffe Parade, is under construction and expected to open by August, completing the entire 33.5 km corridor. Phase 2A was formally opened by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday, who took a ride between BKC and Siddhivinayak stations as part of the inauguration. After the ride, Fadnavis said, 'This underground metro corridor from Cuffe Parade to Aarey Seepz is India's longest single-line underground metro corridor. The second phase opening reflects our dedication towards constructing world-class urban infrastructure. We anticipate the whole stretch to be operational by August in the presence of PM Modi, and we aim to open another 100 km of metro span across MMR by 2027.' With Phase 2A opening, people can now commute from BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk in a little over 15 minutes with trains coming every 6 minutes and 20 seconds. The ticket price will be between Rs 10 and Rs 40 based on the distance covered. There will be 244 trips per day using eight trains. The six recently opened stations – Dharavi, Shitaladevi, Dadar West, Siddhivinayak, Worli, and Acharya Atre Chowk – cater to important areas, such as religious places like Siddhivinayak Temple and cultural complexes like Shivaji Park and Ravindra Natya Mandir. BKC and Worli, the two important business centres, are likely to see heavy ridership owing to better connectivity, according to Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC). 'This line is an engineering marvel. From tunnelling under Mithi river, to building in dense areas like Dadar and Dharavi, the project overcame enormous challenges, from high groundwater levels to navigating heritage structures and crowded slums,' Fadnavis added. The initial section of Metro Line 3 from Aarey to BKC was inaugurated in October 2024 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The last section from Worli to Cuffe Parade through Mumbai Central and CSMT is currently under construction and scheduled to open by August. When operational, the entire 33.5 km route will have 27 underground stations and cut peak hour traffic on the Western Railway by as much as 15 per cent. The whole corridor is likely to provide several advantages, such as reducing travel time from Cuffe Parade to Aarey to less than one hour, decongesting Lady Jamshedji Road and Annie Besant Road, and linking new places like Kalbadevi and Girgaon, which are not connected through the suburban railway. The fare will be capped at Rs 60 for the entire route. 'With the total running of this metro line, almost 5 lakh vehicles will go off roads and there will be huge savings in fuel, energy, and most importantly, time of commuters. With public transport in Mumbai going green on a large scale, we appeal to people to adopt and utilise these eco-friendly modes,' Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said during the inaugural ride, accompanying Fadnavis. The Metro Line 3 is constructed with advanced technology such as full-height platform screen doors, driverless train systems, and the Twin Booted Low Vibration Track System in order to decrease ground-level vibrations. The line will also be joined by other Metro corridors and the Mumbai Monorail, and the Bullet Train at BKC. CM Fadnavis also highlighted how the project had been delayed due to environmental and legal hurdles in the past. 'Work was stalled until 2022, but it resumed once the Shinde government came to power. Now we plan to operationalise a 50 km network by next year and another 50 km by 2027,' he said. However, some stations like Dadar will not be directly connected to existing railway hubs and may require a short walk, a concern for commuters that the MMRC officials said will be addressed with improved last-mile connectivity options.

BMC removes over 32 tonnes of waste from various religious sites on Day 1 of its special clean-up drive
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Tuesday removed more than 30 tonnes of solid waste from the premises of multiple religious places in Mumbai as part of its special drive to clean up such sites. According to authorities, 14 tonnes of solid waste materials, 9.6 tonnes of debris, and 9 tonnes of miscellaneous waste were removed from around the premises of these religious places in Mumbai on the first day. 'Usually, the responsibility of cleaning the premises of any religious place lies with the management of that spot, and our responsibility stays limited to the collection of the waste. BMC is doing this drive as a special measure to emphasise areas like cleanliness and hygiene,' said a civic body official. The special drive will be held between 9 am to 11 am by 800 sanitation workers, and 60 solid waste management (SWM) collection vehicles every day, and will continue till May 9. Officials said this timeline has been chosen since the footfall of devotees is usually low during this period. The Siddhivinayak Temple, Mumba Devi, and Haji Ali Dargah have been shortlisted by the authorities for the cleanliness drive. The cleanliness drive includes the cleaning of the outer premises of the site, washing of the stairs, parking lots and walkways. Civic authorities said they will also carry out segregation of solid waste, following which the waste items will be transported to disposal facilities. The initiative is part of BMC's Clean Mumbai campaign, which was announced by then chief minister Eknath Shinde last year. As part of this campaign, the civic body has taken up systemic cleaning of prominent places in Mumbai.

Rakul Preet Singh shares childhood moments with brother on his birthday
Actress Rakul Preet Singh took to social media to celebrate her brother Aman's birthday in the most heartwarming way-by reminiscing about their cherished childhood memories. On Tuesday, the actress shared a glimpse of their bond, taking her followers on a nostalgic journey as she marked this special occasion with her sibling. Rakul posted a heartwarming video showcasing her journey from childhood memories with her brother Aman to the present day. The video beautifully captures the bond they've shared over the years, blending nostalgic moments with their current connection. Sharing this beautiful clip, the proud sister wrote in the caption, 'Happpppy happpppy bdayyyyy my not so little anymore piece of heart may this year be the best ever and may you get all that u desire.' Jackky Bhagnani also penned a heartwarming birthday note for his brother-in-law. Sharing their candid photo, he wrote, 'Happy Birthday. You are kind of person who makes life brighter! Grateful for your constant chill, your big heart and jokes! Here's to more laughs, more adventures and all the great times ahead. Big love, big hugs-have the best one, brother!' Rakul's younger brother, Aman Preet Singh, is also an actor. Meanwhile, the 'De De Pyaar De' actress recently shared her thoughts on the importance of dressing appropriately for every occasion, especially in the public eye. Rakul emphasized the responsibility that comes with being a public figure and how it extends to one's fashion choices. Speaking on the sidelines of the Lakme Fashion Week, Rakul told IANS, 'Anything you do in the public eye as a public figure, you have to take actions with responsibility, I feel. And in fashion, I always believe in dressing according to the occasion. If you're going to a temple, dress accordingly; if you're going to the gym, wear appropriate clothes; or if you're going out for dinner, you will dress accordingly. For me, I'm someone who believes in dressing for the occasion, dressing right, and enjoying your fashion within that boundary.' In January of this year, Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai introduced a dress code for devotees, prohibiting short skirts and revealing attire. The notice issued by the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust (SGTT) stated that devotees are required to wear respectable clothing, with a preference for traditional Indian attire. In a statement, the SSGTT said, 'Devotees wearing trousers with cuts or torn fabric, short skirts, or clothing that exposes body parts will not be permitted inside the temple.' In many temples, especially in South India, dress codes are enforced to uphold the sanctity and respect of the holy space. These guidelines typically call for modest, full-coverage clothing and often encourage the wearing of traditional Indian attire. Indo-Asian News Service
