Where did Texas A&M softball land in the rankings after the SEC Tournament?
Where did Texas A&M softball land in the rankings after the SEC Tournament? The Texas A&M softball team is hitting its stride at the right time and earned the No. 1 Seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Before the start of the tournament, the Aggies are predicted to make the Women's College World Series for the first time in nearly a decade. The team has built its reputation as a jack of all trades by being able to win a game in several different ways. An area of improvement that Coach Ford would like to see is for the pitching staff to make another step forward as they work around the injury of Sidne Peters. All major softball polls have the Aggies as the overall No. 1-ranked team after run-ruling both SEC Tournament opponents, South Carolina and Texas, outscoring them by a combined 26-6. Texas A&M will be back on the diamond in the College Station Regional starting on Friday, May 16, against Saint Francis at Davis Diamond at 2:30 p.m. CT. Texas A&M softball takes the series after 13-2 run-rule victory over Auburn on Saturday
Texas A&M softball takes the series after 13-2 run-rule victory over Auburn on Saturday No. 6 Texas A&M (23-4, 3-2 SEC) picks up another Top 25 win, beating No. 22 Auburn (20-7, 0-5 SEC) 13-2 in Game 2 to take the series on the road. The Texas A&M Aggies stormed back to dominate the Auburn Tigers in a decisive 13-2 run-rule victory, showcasing a five-inning offensive explosion on the road. After trailing 2-1 early, A&M turned the game around with a hit parade, racking up 14 hits, including three doubles, and finding their stride at the plate. Pitching standout Sidne Peters improved her record to an impressive 6-0, giving up only two hits and two runs. Senior Emily Leavitt closed out the fifth inning with a stellar performance, allowing zero hits, recording one strikeout, and inducing a groundout to secure the early win. Amari Harper powered up, smashing her second home run of the season and driving in two runs, while Mac Barbara returned to form with an impressive 3-for-4 outing and one RBI. If Barbara continues her momentum, the SEC must be on high alert. After a stretch of games with limited offense, the Aggies' bats came alive, fulfilling head coach Trisha Ford's confidence that her team would regain their spark at the right time. "I thought offensively did a really good job today um we were do an outbreak of a game so um yeah it was a great job of executing um that first inning still nipped us in the butt a little bit, but it was good to see Sidne Peters back on the mound dominating so it was a good game" Below you can watch the highlights from Game 2 of the series Contact/Follow us @AggiesWire on X and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Texas A&M news, notes and opinions.
