Lidl shoppers say this is 'best fan they've ever had' as heat set to soar to 30C
The hottest day of 2025 (June 19) so far is upon us and with the temperatures set to continue in excess of 30C into next week, Lidl customers say they have found the solution to keeping cool
Temperatures are set to soar above 30C today (June 19) and into this weekend with the scorching heat showing no signs of slowing down before July. Whist most of us Brits don't have the luxury of air conditioning in our homes, it's important we find other means of keeping cool.
Sometimes, however, simply opening the windows and doors doesn't cut it - and you have may have noticed shops trying to cash in by stocking up on fans in the past few weeks. One of those fans - on sale at Lidl - has been dubbed the "best ever" by shoppers in Facebook's Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.
Sharing a snap of Silvercrest White Bladeless Tower fans, one user asked: "Has anyone got these from Lidl and are they genuinely any good?"
The item is currently listed on Lidl's website as one of it's top picks, retailing at £69.99. Boasting an LED display showing 20 speed settings, a timer and operating modes, it offers "even air distribution for comfortable cooling".
Writing in response, one shopper hailed: "We have this in black bought yesterday. Great fan for the price! Works a treat in the living room especially with the heat coming this week. The remote is also a handy little thing! 3 years warranty. Nothing to dislike."
A second praised: "I've got this fan, best one I've ever had, and it's permanently on in this heat. Can be noisy on highest setting but worth it. I have a smaller one in the bedroom, much quieter."
A third person concurred: "I've got this fan, best one I've ever had, and it's permanently on in this heat. Can be noisy on highest setting but worth it. I have a smaller one in the bedroom, much quieter."
Whilst a fourth Facebook user shared: "I bought both big and little versions and they are the best thing ever. Took the little one to work since I spend so much time there!"
In addition to the aforementioned features, Lidl says the fan also boasts four oscillation settings (30°, 60°, 90°, 120°), four operating modes: normal, natural, sleep, power, and a 180cm cable.
