'The Show Must Go On': Mardi Gras Celebrations Start Early as Severe Weather Forecast
Rolled-back Mardi Gras parades started early on Tuesday, March 4, as weather warnings were issued for New Orleans, local media reported.
The Krewe of Zulu parade started 90 minutes ahead of schedule on 'a shortened route,' and 'without marchers, bands or truck floats,' said.

Replying to a commenter, he said, 'It was an odd one with severe weather canceling most of the day but the show must go on.'
The National Weather Service had said it expected a 'a very busy day with severe weather possible across all of southeast Texas, central and southwest Louisiana.'
It later issued a tornado watch for the city, warning of wind gusts up to 80 miles per hour. Credit: @SimonSaysKnow via Storyful
