Lady Vols defeat Elon in NCAA Tournament first round
No. 10 Tennessee (18-7) defeated Elon (19-6), 4-0, Friday in the NCAA Tournament first round at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
The Lady Vols advance to play No. 26 Pepperdine in the second round. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. EDT on Saturday at Barksdale Stadium.
"I love the way Elon competed tonight," Tennessee head coach Alison Ojeda said. "They competed hard and they for sure helped us get ready for tomorrow. We have a Pepperdine team who can't wait to play us and we'll meet that same energy. We are excited."
