Sinai Higher Institute Celebrates Sinai Liberation Day with Students
Ahmed Emam The Sinai Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotels in Ras El-Bar celebrated Sinai Liberation Day with a special seminar under the theme "Threats and Challenges Facing Egypt's National Security." The event drew a large crowd of students, faculty members, and notable guests, including Dr. Mostafa El-Zaghl, Chairman of the Institute's Board of Directors, Dr. Ibrahim El-Assal, Deputy Chairman and Dean of the Institute, and journalist Mohamed El-Iskandarani. Kicking off the seminar, Dr. El-Zaghl stressed the importance of instilling national pride and awareness in young people, especially on meaningful occasions like Sinai Liberation Day. 'This day isn't just about remembering a victory — it's about honoring the willpower of the Egyptian people and their deep connection to their land,' El-Zaghl said. He reminded students of the enormous sacrifices Egyptians made to reclaim every inch of Sinai, praising the historic role of the armed forces and Egypt's leadership. Meanwhile, Dr. El-Assal picked up on the same theme, highlighting the Institute's responsibility in shaping a new generation that values its history and identity. "National belonging isn't taught only in textbooks," El-Assal explained. "We believe in reaching our students through real conversations, events, and encounters that keep them connected to Egypt's proud story." He also emphasized that building strong national awareness goes hand in hand with what students learn in the classroom, helping create young leaders who are informed, confident, and loyal to their homeland. In turn, journalist Mohamed El-Iskandarani praised the Institute as a 'beacon for nurturing national spirit' among students. He underlined the importance of equipping young people with accurate, trustworthy information from reliable sources — not just to strengthen their Egyptian identity, but also to help them appreciate the sacrifices made by past generations, and the achievements driving Egypt's future. The event wrapped up with a clear message: the spirit of Sinai's liberation lives on, inspiring a new generation to carry forward the values of sacrifice, loyalty, and pride. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 .. MSMEDA injects $15.69mln into North, South Sinai to boost small projects
Egypt - Bassel Rahmy, CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), announced that the Authority has injected approximately EGP 800m into North and South Sinai from July 2014 through the end of 2024. This financing has supported around 9,600 small and micro projects, generating over 23,000 job opportunities for the people of Sinai. Speaking on the occasion of Sinai Liberation Day, Rahmy reaffirmed MSMEDA's commitment to providing both financial and technical support to small enterprises in Sinai, leveraging their potential to create employment, particularly among youth. He emphasized that this effort aligns with directives from Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who chairs the Authority's Board of Directors, and reflects the political leadership's vision for driving comprehensive development across Sinai, with a strong focus on empowering young graduates and women. Rahmy noted that MSMEDA's efforts extend beyond financial services, with a wide range of non-financial initiatives, including awareness campaigns, entrepreneurship training, marketing support, and participation in exhibitions. Special emphasis has been placed on empowering women economically and socially. The Authority has organised training courses in traditional crafts and handicrafts to enhance women's skills, alongside administrative and marketing training to enable them to manage their businesses effectively. Additionally, MSMEDA has worked to help female entrepreneurs market their products through prominent exhibitions such as 'Turathna' (Our Heritage). It has also provided capacity-building training for associations and organisations that support handicraft industries in Sinai, enhancing their competitiveness. Rahmy revealed that preparations are underway to provide trained women with modern sewing machines, along with specialised training on their use, in collaboration with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation. Looking ahead, Rahmy explained that MSMEDA has an ambitious plan to continue expanding small and micro enterprises across Sinai, providing comprehensive support for new and existing projects. He confirmed that MSMEDA's regional branches, working in partnership with universities, educational directorates, and civil society organisations, have launched free training courses aimed at equipping Sinai's youth with the skills needed to start and manage their own businesses. These programmes help participants choose project ideas suited to their experience and academic backgrounds, secure financing, and establish productive enterprises that leverage Sinai's rich natural resources. Rahmy also highlighted the Authority's efforts to familiarise citizens with the incentives offered under Law 152/2020 on the Development of Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises. By transitioning from the informal to the formal sector and obtaining official classification certificates, entrepreneurs can access a wide range of government services and benefits designed to help grow and expand their businesses.
